Regarding a grown woman who constantly refers to herself as a "Princess"?

A few months ago a girl I was at school with added me on Facebook. All well and good, but whenever she updates her status she says things like "I'm a tired Princess today" or "Princess can't wait to go shopping with mummy" or "Poorly Princess". We're both 32 years of age.

Is it me just me or is it fucking bizarre? Today she's posted saying "Five days till my holidays. Excited Princess!"

As far as I'm aware she's not a Princess or in any way affiliated with royalty!

She's always been very, very girly. Has a love of pink and such, but to be honest so are a lot other women I know. They don't go around referring to themselves as Princesses.

I've not hidden her statuses as I far them so ludicrous. She's deadly serious as far I can see.

Does she have some kind of personality disorder?

He he - I'd only seen the Songified version - never realised it was for eharmony O_o

Massiveaggressive · 11/08/2014 19:53

Who would reply to that ! What would you possibly say ?

Hi my name is Vernon, I run a cat sanctuary, come to me my love and we'll feed them cat crunchies in the moonlight

flappityfanjos · 11/08/2014 19:56

Sorry chaps, Catlady is an actress. :)

Salmotrutta · 11/08/2014 20:02

We can dream flappity, we can dream...

HilariousInHindsight · 11/08/2014 20:06

Surprised at the responses on here.

Who gives a shit it's not hurting anyone.

If someone wishes to do this it wouldn't bother me. It's not how I talk but whatever - I have friends who do all sorts of things. As long as they aren't hurting me or themselves it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Trills · 11/08/2014 20:06

I have not read the thread.

I don't need to.

There is NOTHING that you can do that could possibly be more unreasonable than her referring to herself as a princess.

She is the more unreasonable one, in every situation, until she stops doing it.

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 11/08/2014 20:13

Actually, it is. It is hurting all those women who try desperately to fight for the right to live their lives in the 21st century, without being seen as a stupid, pouting woman, hellbent on "snaffling" a rich sugar-daddy. It is hurting all those women who work bloody hard to live their lives without a sugar-daddy to look after them to be able to bring up their children in a decent fashion. Those stupid "Princesses" are damaging all the work the Suffragettes did all those years ago to make the world a better place for women. Those stupid "Princesses" are damaging the reputation of women as a whole.

So actually, they are hurting people. They are simply prostituting themselves by pouting and posturing. And sullying the rest of us in the process.

Chippednailvarnish · 11/08/2014 20:17

Princess = weak woman, who doesn't work, who needs their father or husband to provide a house / title / money / wardrobe / lifestyle because they're too dumb to do it themselves.

Very damaging.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 11/08/2014 20:20

I give a shit because it's infantilising, man pleasing, adult world avoiding, little girl fetishising bullshit and it harms women. So ner.

YouTheCat · 11/08/2014 20:20

If not the cat woman what about ?

Salmotrutta · 11/08/2014 20:26

Thanks for the videos! And yes I understand flappy hand crying now! Cat lady definitely an actress. .. or God help us!

Chippednailvarnish · 11/08/2014 20:43

Just showed DH the video and about 10 seconds in he said how nasty and mean posters were to be laughing at the poor woman's video. Then she started crying about cats and he shut up.

My DH seems to be a princess sympathiser, he's married the wrong woman Grin

Oh no, Chipped! Grin

AdamLambsbreath · 11/08/2014 20:52

Amen confuseus. As a fellow history geek I guarantee that being an actual princess was shit. Just look at what happened to Joanna 'The Mad'. Poor bloody woman.

ignominious · 11/08/2014 20:56

Princess likes the sound of this woman.

Princess is going to start doing it herself now.

Princess would never unfriend someone like this and agrees with the pp who would provoke them into further ridiculousness.

Princess out.

WitchWay · 11/08/2014 21:03

princess sympathiser Grin

CalamitouslyWrong · 11/08/2014 21:10

DH really enjoyed the cat woman video. He suggested that online dating would work a lot better if people were that honest about how utterly weird they are.

Chippednailvarnish · 11/08/2014 21:17

It's unfortunate that DH has married an Irish South Asian peasant. I'm about as princessy as a jersey royal.

Interestingly he thought most men wouldn't watch the whole of the video and decide just on looks alone...

This pretend 'royal' thing confuses me. Do royal children play on bouncy council houses at parties?

trufflehunterthebadger · 11/08/2014 21:30

Look, i find Pwinsessy women fucking annoying, but in response to your post not all princesses are vapid idiots - Princess Anne isnt

scottishmummy · 11/08/2014 21:35
