Regarding a grown woman who constantly refers to herself as a "Princess"?

A few months ago a girl I was at school with added me on Facebook. All well and good, but whenever she updates her status she says things like "I'm a tired Princess today" or "Princess can't wait to go shopping with mummy" or "Poorly Princess". We're both 32 years of age.

Is it me just me or is it fucking bizarre? Today she's posted saying "Five days till my holidays. Excited Princess!"

As far as I'm aware she's not a Princess or in any way affiliated with royalty!

She's always been very, very girly. Has a love of pink and such, but to be honest so are a lot other women I know. They don't go around referring to themselves as Princesses.

I've not hidden her statuses as I far them so ludicrous. She's deadly serious as far I can see.

Does she have some kind of personality disorder?

Frogisatwat · 11/08/2014 19:02

Is please!

Sarahplane · 11/08/2014 19:06

Princes needs to get a grip.

Salmotrutta · 11/08/2014 19:08

Frog - it's when girly women wave their hands up and down in front of their eyes when crying.

Thus avoiding the running of their make-up due to excess tearage.

Salmotrutta · 11/08/2014 19:10

Because apparently waving your hands in front of your eyes makes tears instantly evaporate.

I'll try to find a video to demonstrate...

Back in a mo.

Princess Clairey was a nightclub manager. Amazingly plenty of men did lap up the princess shite, including the area manager. Hmm

She also had a permanent duck face, and loved a selfie!

WitchWay · 11/08/2014 19:11

I bet she says "pwintheth" rather than "princess" Grin

CrapBag · 11/08/2014 19:11

"I'm such a lucky princess, daddy took me to build-a-bear"

One of the creepiest things I have read on here!

WitchWay · 11/08/2014 19:12

Referring to the original OP's twerp friend

Although Clairey might have said it too...

Iconfuseus · 11/08/2014 19:15

I've always felt uncomfortable at that use of the word Princess. I love my history so to me being a Princess means

  • being the product of a loveless dynastic marriage
  • increased risk of mental ill health/infertility due to years of inbreeding (I'm looking at you the Hapsburgs)
  • living under the constant threat of a coup
  • being forced to marry some other inbred posho you probably don't like
  • being used as a pawn in the political negotiations of others
  • being expected to push out a son as soon as possible
  • being shoved in a convent/divorced/beheaded if you don't
  • never being able to take a lover even if your husband takes a thousand
  • having no privacy and having every detail of your life scrutinised
  • having all the risk of being around power, but having virtually no power yourself
  • praying everyday that if you are lucky enough to have a son, your son looks after you in your old age because there isn't room in a Royal Court for an old Queen.

So yeah, I don't fancy being a Princess thanks.

CatThiefKeith · 11/08/2014 19:15

Oh, and did I mention that when her dd was born she actually introduced the baby and said "she's a fairy and I'm a princess"

Demented woman

Salmotrutta · 11/08/2014 19:16

Can't find one but there's a scene in Miss Congeniality when Sandra Bullock does it (ironically)

Chippednailvarnish · 11/08/2014 19:17

"Since when did you become a Princess? You were just an old slapper when I knew you."

And then defriend.

YouTheCat · 11/08/2014 19:22
