Just that really. I live abroad and they live in the house next to us (not in Israel) Get on quite well. Our gardens are very close to each other so we see each other constantly through out the day.

I've never given the whole situation much thought (to my discredit) but having spent the summer at home, I have been shocked and stunned and deeply saddened by the latest developments in Gaza. I know it's not directly their fault, but at the same time I just can't get past what the Israeli government is doing.

So, AIBU to be angry with them personally? Because I am angry with them. I'm angry about the whole situation.

There is plenty you can do to make your own govt aware of your feelings about the situation. IMO that would be a much better way to channel your energy.

For all you know, your neighbours feel the same way you do. I know an Israeli family who have lost someone very dear to them in the ongoing conflict, and I can assure you that the continuing violence brings them absolutely no joy or comfort whatsoever. Quite the opposite, in fact.

BTW if you are British (as am I) our country is supporting Israel. So would you expect any nearby Palestinians to be angry with you? That's your logic.

When you say 'Israeli' do you mean that they are nationals of Israel? Or Jewish? We have lots of Jewish neighbours who have no connection with the state of Israel. Even if they are Israeli nationals they could well be just as appalled at the conflict as you are. I disagree with plenty that is being done by the British government 'in my name'.

I have actually have a close relationship with my neighbours. I'm not 'racist' I don't by any means dislike them for being Israeli. I just feel deeply upset about the conflict. But you're right I am being UR in blaming them for their country's actions.
