To not give the betterware catalogue back?

I have a sticker on my door saying no circulars, no newspapers, no leaflets, addressed mail only. I bin everything else and it annoys me that the catalogue distributer wilfully ignored my sign.

I have one of those signs too and it works well in the main. There are a few people who seem to think it doesn't apply to them, or deliverers who don't speak English so don't understand it. It's the multiple taxi cards, menus and charity bags that piss me off. Why would I need 10 identical Chinese takeaway menus, for fuck's sake?

YANBU. I told the Betterware agent twice (in person) that I did not want them, running after them as they were delivered. The third time I binned it (No, I'm not going to look after junk mail and put it outside on the appointed day) and she tried to argue about it too. It really winds me up.

One time I had a knock at the door, it was a chugger, I pointed wordlessly to the sign, and closed the door, the look on his face! (I'm gonna get flamed now aren't I?)

I generally just leave them outside the front door. Although I find catalogues and door to door sales people irritating I don't really see the point in being rude/nasty to people who are just trying to earn some money. They don't keep leaving them if you never buy anything in my experience.

I aways put this kind of thing straight in the bin but didn't realize the distributors paid for them

LRDtheFeministDragon · 10/08/2014 17:41

They go in the recycling here. There's no 'doorstep' to put them out on - the door opens straight onto the pavement and that's not very wide anyway, so I don't like to crowd it up.

at least the charity bags come in usefull as bin bags
the catalogues can only be binned, really. or has anyone found a good use for thm?

We have 16 steep steps leading up to our front door. I've had charity bags slotted through the bottom gate as whoevers delivered them clearly can't be bothered to climb the steps and post it through our letterbox. That annoys me. I don't remove them. They stay there till they disappear of their own accord. Never had an issue with Betterware catalogues except one time my Mum came over and brought the catalogue I'd put out back in as she thought I'd not seen it. I got a knock on the door requesting it back.
