It cant be!

Watching the Adam and Joe show on the Sky thingy, and everything on there, including the show itself, is only a few years old.

Please tell me it is, otherwise I am watching a program that I watched as an adult but is almost 20 years old.

Oh and 1984 was only 5 minutes before that, because if it isnt then I am officially old and my record collection is laughable!

Just the fact you have a 'record' collection makes you and me old Grin

Shosha1 · 28/07/2014 22:45

I saw a advert for Now 88 !

I have Now on tape somewhere

Bogeyface · 28/07/2014 22:46

Shit.

I own a vinyl copy of Jason Donovan's "10 Good Reasons" album. And Paul Young's "No Parlez" and everything Nik Kershaw ever released.

Double Shit.

I have magazines from 1996.

I have magazines I'm still reading from 1996.

And I agree with the Band Aid comment.

I left Uni in 1996 so it could only have been about a year or two ago.
That said I do have 10 years that I can't account for, no idea what I was doing, I don't think I was pissed.

YADNBU 18 Years have not passed since 1996. I know because I was alive in the 18 years prior to 1996 and that felt like 18 yrs. Infact, 1978-1996 took forever.

Namechangearoonie123 · 28/07/2014 22:50

I was married to a different bloke back then

And I've been with this one more than 11 years

It can't be it means I've been an adult off as long as I was a child. I'm still in my first boyfriends blue ford fiesta listening to ash, rather than my own blue ford fiesta listening one direction.

LJBanana · 28/07/2014 22:56

Ahem....

I'm really sorry. I saw this and believe too that it can't be true

to think that 1996 was NOT 18 years ago!
thegreylady · 28/07/2014 22:58

My baby girl was 22 in 1996 and was travelling round Australia...now she is almost 40 and those 18 years went by in about 2 months.'Tis a conspiracy I tell you, 'they' are stealing our time :(

LaFlambeau · 28/07/2014 23:09

Oh bloody hell, I'm lying next to 4mo DS and I don't ever want him to leave me Sad

How can I slow down the time?!

DoJo · 28/07/2014 23:10

I have booze older than that.

For some reason I read that as 'I have bogies older than that' and I was weirdly impressed!

BlackeyedSusan · 28/07/2014 23:12

I went to see back to the future II in the cinema, whilst I was still at university... no way is it nearly thirty years ago.. 15 at most.

BlackeyedSusan · 28/07/2014 23:14

(and that was a good few years before 1996, which was ony about 10 years ago at most. )

Pippioddstocking · 28/07/2014 23:15

Heather shimmer - remember it well ..,,

Floop · 28/07/2014 23:16

Sister born in 96 is 18 Sad. We're so old.

LiegeAndLief · 28/07/2014 23:18

Dh has a t shirt from 1992 which is still going strong. It is older than one of the girls he works with

SelfconfessedSpoonyFucker · 28/07/2014 23:18

Yeah because that means my kid isn't moving 2,000 miles away and I'm not middle aged.

Bogeyface · 28/07/2014 23:19

You know that Dawn 'OH! Porter show where she bangs on about Vintage?

I can't be the only one that still thinks of the 90s being 10 years ago? Or 2007 as being about 4?

JulietBravoJuliet · 28/07/2014 23:21

I had this horrible realisation today that it's 20 years since I left school! Which just CANNOT be right! Surely it was only a few years ago? I feel about 21 in my head, not an actual real grown up :(

MarchEliza · 28/07/2014 23:22

1996 was awesome. I was in year 10 and was totally in love and there were parties and GCSEs were easy and there was nothing to worry about.

Also Heather Shimmer lipstick and Dewberry body spray. And O2 body spray by Impulse (in the days before everything just got drowned in CKOne).

It was 6 years ago. Max.

Walkacrossthesand · 28/07/2014 23:24

1996? Lightweights.
Secret Policeman's Ball, anyone?
