It cant be!

Watching the Adam and Joe show on the Sky thingy, and everything on there, including the show itself, is only a few years old.

Please tell me it is, otherwise I am watching a program that I watched as an adult but is almost 20 years old.

Oh and 1984 was only 5 minutes before that, because if it isnt then I am officially old and my record collection is laughable!

Next year we're as far into the future than Marty went back in the first film from 1985.

NO WAY!!!! Just googled and you are right! My brain cant compute that, it just cant. What the ACTUAL fuck?

I think I need to go and have a little cry....

MagratGarlik · 28/07/2014 22:02

My Doc Marten boots are from 1992, when I started university and they're still going strong, so '96 can't be more than a couple of years ago.

CallMeExhausted · 28/07/2014 22:03

My DS was born in 98, and he just turned 16 last week, however, I graduated from Uni in 94, and that was only 5 years ago - so no, '96 was not 18 years ago.

Someone has been screwing with time again...

BettyBolognese · 28/07/2014 22:04

YANBU... DH and I were listening to the radio and 'Common People' by Pulp came on. We sang away. When the song ended the DJ said that it charted 20 years ago. 20 yeas ago!!!!!!! 20 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!.

Where has it gone?

MadameJosephine · 28/07/2014 22:04

I had a baby in 1996! There's no way he can be all grown up and about to leave home, can he?

1996 is... half my life ago! The year I left school, moved to the UK, started working, started university and tracked down a very close friend who I'd lost touch with (sadly, we only had another 4 years before he died).

All day travelcards were £3.90 and 2nd class stamps were 19p.Oasis, the Prodigy, Trainspotting, crop tops, hipsters, Reeboks and satchels. Drinking lots and lots of vodka, pints of Guinness and whiskey chasers.

Lots and lots of memories of that year...

Bogeyface · 28/07/2014 22:14

Parklife was my song of 1996 and I still love it!

Bogeyface · 28/07/2014 22:36

Arghh,
96 was first year of Uni. Late essays, good friends and surely only, at a push, eight years ago???

ICanSeeTheSun · 28/07/2014 22:40

It's was my Dsis will be 18 very soon.

Shosha1 · 28/07/2014 22:41

Noooooooo. It's not allowed to be.

That means I became a grandmother 18 years ago

And DS is closer to 40 than 30

But no it can't I'm only 30 myself surely.
