Ours currently has a plethora of glassware. Well I say glassware, I mean pint pots liberated from pubs. Oooo yes, please a fiver for ten of those IS a bargain.

Mrsjayy · 26/07/2014 13:33

Oh god sake does the glitter not just come off when you wash it, my sister got a personalised glitter glass for her 30th it is huge and her name is spelt wrong

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 26/07/2014 13:37

Oh my! I looked at the glitter shite and one of my FB friends has liked the page AND she's a MNer.

orangepudding · 26/07/2014 13:38

I offered a little tykes playhouse on mu local FB group for £70, I had a comment that I should sell for less as it was roughly the same price as one could be bought on eBay. Other people offered less and asked for delivery despite me saying collection only.
In the end I gave it to a charity for free.
I gave up with free cycle when someone collected a child's bike and didn't say thank you!

basgetti · 26/07/2014 13:39

My local fb page is full of ridiculously overpriced stuff that no one ever buys so things get bumped for months with no price reduction. People seem to expect to get back the same amount they paid for something when it was new. Someone is currently trying to sell a 3 year old faded and ripped handled travel system for £150, it is currently selling for £100 new. Surely a quick google would tell you if your prices are reasonable!

CatKisser · 26/07/2014 13:42

Bloody Hell - someone's selling their CARAVAN for £75 on my local one!!! It's not a fancy one but looks in good condition.

If I had £75 I'd be bloody tempted!

BornOfFrustration · 26/07/2014 13:45

I put our lovely solid pine table and chairs on there really cheaply, 20 minutes before they were due to be collected by the usual crap shabby chicer (so dismantled and stacked by the front door) I got a "sorry hun, changed my mind" message Angry

I sold them on eBay for 4 times what I was asking 2 days later.

moominmarvellous · 26/07/2014 13:47

I bet it turns out to be for hire at £75 a day or something.

Caravans are something else that feature heavily on ours. Pics of caravans and the interiors with nothing else. So conversations go like this:

Is the van for sale?

No mate.

Is the van to rent? I so where is it based and how much do you charge.

Prices vary.

It's like pulling teeth! Do want to rent the fucking thing out or not?!

Mrsjayy · 26/07/2014 13:49

The caravan will be rotten with damp thats why its so cheap the walls will be mush , our first van we bought about 16yrs ago was cheap dh renpvated it though

passmethewineplease · 26/07/2014 13:50

Someone's actually selling a Geordie Shore pillowcase on ours. Hmm

StinkyGinkoNuts · 26/07/2014 13:55

I joined the baby/kids selling group for my hometown, thinking I might get some bits for my child just to use when we visit my parents from abroad. I have kept it for pure entertainment value.
Someone is currently trying to start a bit of a cottage industry selling loom band bracelets.
So many people put "message me for size and price", but surely that is vital info and why make so much work for yourself?! Just write it once on the bloody post!
I love "want gone", like it's my problem.
And the lol-ing and hun-ing...

moominmarvellous · 26/07/2014 13:56

The shabby chicers are another thing that drive me nuts!

Every description says 'shabby chic dresser/side table/tv stand (I've even seen a shabby chic rabbit hutch!) Painted in Annie Sloan old white and finished with crystal handles' and is marked up to crazy prices.

Gaaaah!

Mrsjayy · 26/07/2014 13:58

There is handbags doing the rounds on mine sometbody kors ? All on sale apparently so not fake or stolenthen

askyfullofstars · 26/07/2014 14:00

Geordie Shore pillowcase....oh god.
Mine also has a lot of "brand new x just bought in Disney for (say) 25 pounds but its too small so will accept 20"....shows picture new with tags......I always think, if you just bought it (and it does look new), why not just take it back??
The cynical part of me thinks they are prob nicked.

askyfullofstars · 26/07/2014 14:01

stinky We may be in the same group....
Explosion of loom band bracelets and loom band ribbons (for charity of course)

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 26/07/2014 14:08

Someone on my local fb page was trying to sell a ripped leather sofa for £100. Apparently you could just put a throw over it.

Needless to say several people asked if it was a joke!

Mrsjayy · 26/07/2014 14:10

Yeah new with tags is normally nicked, they usually get them off a man with a bag and sell it online,

askyfullofstars · 26/07/2014 14:11

What I thought mrsjay
There was one dressing up costume bought yesterday for 40 quid but too small, with tags so will sell 30 quid. Why lose a tenner when you can just take it back....

D0oinMeCleanin · 26/07/2014 14:12

I like a glittery/jute bag page, Annie, and I have MNetter Facebook friends. It's not me is it?

In my defense it's my sister's page (not the one linked, a different one). I don't need to buy anything from them, they give me them every birthday/mothers day/christmas. I do quite like the wine glass Blush

MorphineDreams · 26/07/2014 14:13

£80 for a rusty BBq.

to think that people post some pretty nasty looking stuff for sale on FB selling sites?
CatKisser · 26/07/2014 14:15

Morphine that's foul!

Mrsjayy · 26/07/2014 14:18

You embrace the glitter dooin Grin the new with tags is just the modern version of getting out of the back of q van I am sure I wore a lot of new with tags when I was achild Blush

passmethewineplease · 26/07/2014 14:19

You've got to wonder if these people are actually serious?! :O

JeggingsHateMe · 26/07/2014 14:23

Seriously this thread?! It's like stumbling across a witches coven all cackling around a cauldron. I like a laugh as much as the next person, but you're all keyboard warrior'ing manically in a bid to be the fastest to deliver the nastiest judgement!

There are names showing in those pictures :( seriously this is a pretty mean thread :(

DoristheCamel · 26/07/2014 14:30

I have been trying to find one to share with you I saw on ours a few weeks back but cant.

Basically it was a wet week during half term and there was an outdoor show/function on locally.

Someone asked to borrow a pushchair for the day "tomorrow". They wanted rain cover and a basket with it.

Someone replied saying they had a basic buggy she could just have to keep.

But the pushchair person replied with " No thanks hun, I have a decent pushchair already but I just dont want to get it dirty when we go to the XXXX tomorrow cos its gonna be muddy with all this rain"

Yes - so lovely- just borrow someone elses pushchair and wreck that instead!!!

No one else offered after that! Grin
