Inspired by another thread sorry.

I bought some ballet style pumps from Dorothy perkins. Wore them once, walked for literally 5 minutes in them and got 3 blisters. So I took them back to the shop, truthfully told them what had happened and they wouldn't let me have a refund. They said they couldn't as they'd been worn and couldn't be resold. Fair enough you can't sell them but I can't bloody wear them! She told me they needed 'breaking in'. They cost £20 so pretty cheap for shoes but it's a lot of money to me.

Would I be unreasonable to take them to a different branch and lie and say I haven't worn them (you can't tell by looking at them) but that I tool the labels off and realised they didn't go well with the outfit I'd planned?

I just got some shoes half-price in a sale online. They look great but I know if I wear them today without tights or socks they will rip my heels to pieces. So, I am going to break them in gradually.

This is very standard OP and doesn't mean the shoes are faulty.

I think OP was wrong to basically lie and return them.

She had tried them and judged them to be OK. She made a wrong call. The shoes are not at fault, they just don't fit OP as well as they ought to.
She can try blister plasters or foot socks or powder. Or not wear them on hot days when she has to walk in them. Or give them away/sell them on. These things happen.
But to all those saying you would ebay them, what do you then do when the buyer asks for a refund because they wore them five minutes and got blisters? Or asked for a refund because they did not fit when they arrived, but may actually have worn them to a wedding/party.

phantom In that particular case, I would say maybe the OP would then see how it feels, and possibly not do it again when she was the one having to lose out on money and refund someone for being dishonest.
