Nothing here yet, thank God!! I had all 3 dogs crying in my bed last night at 2! Very conscious of the new neighbours ...

It's all black as pitch here now.

I was in South London last night, at a family gathering. I shared the spare room with my aunt and woke her up because I screamed in shock when the thunder clattered overhead!

Mackerel, that smell will be ozone caused by lightning ionising oxygen.

North Essex, its been a bit crap. I am must disappointed.

North East Essex. Some pretty lightning but not enough to really be a storm. Too hot and sticky still.

Nothing in Windsor, it's completely still....disappointed

Am debating as to whether to bring the dogs upstairs for the first time ever just in case.

Yesterday evening was a lot of flashes and thunder around 9pm and now a lot of flashes and it's constantly lighting up the sky but very few bangs and no rain.

I spoke or rather wrote too soon, here's the rain. Very hot still although that might be scared toddler in the bed cuddled up to me!

Yes I noticed that too, lots of lightening and no bangs, I wonder what that is all about?

I reckon no bangs means it's a large storm miles away, the light is reaching you but not the sound.

It hit north essex around 3am for a couple of hours. Amazing lightning and thunder.

I am in Kent for ds2's Sports Day. It started last night at about 9pm and was still going at 11pm when i fell asleep. We were waiting for my taxi about 9.30 and a big butch guy was walking on the other side of the road when there was a HUGE flash of lightning and he went "Oooooh" and jumped!! It was so hot too. My hotel bed had a double duvet folded over so i slept with that pushed back!!
