To want my usually lovely friend to stop harrassing me about Forever Living

She has recently got involved with Forever Living. We used to be in touch every month or so via email, text or fb (We live opposite ends of the country) but since she has got involved with this it's every single day more or less. She sends chatty messages but always drops in 'Have you thought about it some more' 'They are really good products' etc. Another mutual friend told me she has also been emailing her the same thing, again and again and again. Mutual friend and I have both already told her we're not interested in becoming part of it but we wish her luck and hope it works out.

What has happened to our usually sane and lovely friend? It's impossible to have a conversation with her without Forever Living being mentioned repeatedly. It's like she has been taken over by a cult or something the way she keeps going on about it.

I looked into the company and it seems to be a MLM company. Some of the articles I have read make it seem like a very fine line between that and a pyramid scheme. A lot of people also saying they made no or very little money trying to sell inferior products at an inflated price.

She's not made any money yet but is playing a well off future down to them. Is she kidding herself, has anyone here been selling these products and made any money doing it?

It's multi-level marketing. So you don't make money from selling overpriced shite, you make money from getting other people to sell overpriced shite.

Either way it's not something you should be pestering friends about.

So she would get paid if we signed up and tried to sell these products shite ?

How much would she get paid for signing us up? May explain the harassment.

I tried that londonrach but it kept showing lots of links and youtubes obviously by FL saying it wasn't. Can you point me in the right direction to any links please.

Pesto I feel your pain, I have also been harrangued by someone to sell these products, and as I´m in a different country to her I believe they get paid even more! Definitely pyramid like scheme as london said, those who joined first would be more quids in. My mum also is being harrangued by a friend and asked me to join with her and I told her no under no circumstances, and to not be so silly in investing anything in this scheme.

I agree that it seems to brainwash people. I have a relatively sensible friend who is obsessed with FL and flogging it. Anyone who dare criticises her endless selling tactics is jealous of her income and a hater.

Another one with a friend now obsessed with Forever Living. All she talks about is how good the products are for health and weight loss - but, curiously, she is neither thinner nor fitter than before she started drinking aloe goo at a hundred quid a pop.

My XH was gullible and got signed up by Herbalife. He was a shy man who was useless at talking to people or selling anything. He parted with £2500 to buy stock that they assured him he would triple his money on. He also had to recruit new people as he would then earn off of their sales too.

He ended up selling his car to pay his credit card bill for the stock, then when he couldn't sell the stuff, ended up selling it back to Herbalife for a loss.

Forever Living works in exactly the same way as Herbalife, maybe without the same initial cost, but you will never make a fortune selling the products.

Yes, a minute number of people will do well selling this stuff. The majority of people won't.

Tell your friend that you are very happy for her, but that you don't want it ruining your friendship, so can she please stop talking about it.....

I actually think the aggressive tactics lies these companies use are exploitative.

The craze will pass just ride it out until your lovely friend returns.

Urgh, I've deleted a friend from my Facebook for this. My newsfeed was full of her crap and it was irritating the life out of me, but when she started PMing me about it too I couldn't take it anymore! I've hidden someone else for a similar crime but they stopped short of PM's thankfully!

Merde She is just like that at the moment. It does seem like brainwashing.

I hope she doesn't lose any money, they can't afford to.

My Dad was obsessed with it years ago. I was asking him the other day if he has an Aloe Vera plant at home as I find fresh from the plant gel is excellent for burns and a first aid staple.

That seemed to unlock something in his brain and he started going on about some study about soldiers and the Forever Living stuff being better than the official stuff they were issued with.

It was a bit weird, I could tell he wasn't registering what I was saying about having tried the FL products and finding them pretty ineffectual whereas I've had excellent results off a plant I paid a couple of pounds for years ago.

Tell her you simply are not interested in this kind of money making scheme. If she wants to get involved that's up to her but you just simply don't want to know. Or tell her to contact you after she has made her first £1m and you might be interested!

A friend is selling this stuff but thankfully is fairly sceptical herself and is not pushing it on me. I have met the person who signed my friend up, who admits that the gunk drink tastes foul, but claims it cured her IBS and eczema. Sounds like your friend is desperate.
