To want to set the record straight about the Cedar Falls Nurse In

Mamagiraffe · 14/07/2014 13:27

I am organising the peaceful protest OUTSIDE THE GATES of Cedar Falls. The protest is not taking place because Victoria tried to take an under 16 to an age-restricted place expecting special treatment it is because the spa have cancelled her booking rather than allowing her to make alternative arrangements. Whatever has happened in the past is immaterial and I am horrified by the muck-raking and bullying instigated here last night. I, personally, do not condone the online attack on their Facebook page but that is of course up to the individual., I have also requested members of the event to remove any they may have already posted but I have no power to do so. For those who are uninformed breastfeeding at 1 is not only recommended but it aids nutrition, soothing and attachment- for Victoria's child they may or may not have required a feed during this weekend but provision needed to be in place to facilitate this and it would be unfair for the child not to ensure this is possible, this does not mean that a nursing mother must be sequestered away from living a normal adult life for the duration. The rights regarding discrimination is to protect the right of the breastfeeding mother to do so. I won't be returning here to fight the fight but as MNHQ deleted the last thread I have had to start my own to give you my own twopence'th if anybody wants to contact us for more information the email address is [email protected]

It makes me mad we can't link stuff. She linked US on FB and called us names. It's the internet, she put it all there to start with! Although I think they have all come to their senses now making sure they have deleted everything. Hope CF lawyers have been onto them.

Pumpkinpositive · 14/07/2014 16:00

Sew Entitled would be a definite improvement on the actual name.

But at least Robin Thicke would approve. Grin

I wonder if MamaGiraffe is going to come back and explain why it is a good idea to have a load of parents and babies in such a hazardous location?

OooOooTheMonkey · 14/07/2014 16:01

Sew Entitled is an improvement pumpkin!

Sizzlesthedog · 14/07/2014 16:03

Fantastic marketing for Cedar Falls.

They sit back and wait for the phone to ring.

People who have never heard of them are now hearing the name and googling and booking in for a child free weekend.

Well Done.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/07/2014 16:05

Mind you, I am shocked, nay, horrified, that John Lewis have not posted a member of staff next to each hand dryer, to stop children shoving their heads into them. Why should busy, breastfeeding parents have to supervise their own older children? WinkGrin

Cocolepew · 14/07/2014 16:05

I really wish I'd read the other thread now. It looked so boring from the title Sad

HaroldLloyd · 14/07/2014 16:05

Have they commented yet?

Wonder if they are getting legal advice, or simply not checked the internet today.

I think we should link to this thread on there and ask for a free weekend. I totes promise not to bring my toddler.

TheFairyCaravan · 14/07/2014 16:06

D0oin You have a message!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/07/2014 16:06

Can someone please pm me with the actual name of the sparkly-fanjo-pad site? Pretty please!

sashh · 14/07/2014 16:06

OMG it's not just her - don't click if you don't want to see fanjo pads in numerous colours and patterns

Do you know what...(I can't believe I'm saying this ...) I think you should give them a break ....
She said (posted) something a bit stupid in a temper. When pushed changed the story a bit...
She must be having a shit time right now ...surely the backtracking by her DH here and deleting stuff shows she realises she's fucked up...
Agreed would get more sympathy if they just said what really happened (rather than trying to cover their backsides) - but then in the circumstances would you?
(most sensible would be say nothing if not 100% true)
She's probably hoping the 'nurse in' gets forgotten (or if she had any sense she would) - in fact everyone just forgets about the whole thing
And instead of critising her DH - he is trying to support her (as are her parents but agree it is coming across as enabling but still)- and she has got 2 young children - and this must be incredibly stressful for them all...
(This thread (and previous one) is very funny though - brightened up my boring evening and this afternoon
I have one question though... why tie dyed? cos white would show the stains? Surely then black would be better?Hmm
Who else but you (and maybe a liberal DP) is going to see your sanitary towels? Are you supposed to show them to your friends? (whilst wearing them obviously) Have I missed something - a new trend?)

LastTango · 14/07/2014 16:10

I won't be returning here to fight the fight

Glad to hear it - bye bye.

londonrach · 14/07/2014 16:10

BigChocFrenzy · 14/07/2014 16:12

The deleted thread promised me a "Galaxy in Your Pants !"
Even being post-meno, I got very excited about this

Am really surprised to see this thread!

Cedar falls is local to me and I had heard about this incident on one of the local fb pages, as far as I could work out this lady wanted her husband to bring their baby to cedar falls car park so she could nip out and give her one bf. The management took exception, wouldn't discuss it and promptly cancelled the booking Shock

The only issue I can see here is that personally I wouldn't have mentioned it to anyone - would have just nipped out, fed the baby in the car and no one would have been any the wiser.

Am so surprised (and a little disappointed) in mn tbh Sad

londonrach · 14/07/2014 16:13

I'm missing this new trend....(I'm always the last to know)

Sizzlesthedog · 14/07/2014 16:13

Is the "nurse in" happening outside the gates? Only there really is no where to park and it's a very scary road. Loads of accidents. Joking aside, don't do it there.

Anarchy99 · 14/07/2014 16:14

girlie According to the husband himself (who has posted on here) she wanted to take the kid into the spa (despite them not allowing under 16s)
