So following the news coverage of one of his reps asking a girl to suck cocks to win a free 'Holiday', he has said that it was nothing to do with him and the girl was disgusting and badly brought up. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2687338/Carnage-boss-Magaluf-sex-act-party-blames-teens-upbringing-behaviour.html

Have a look at their Twitter feed: twitter.com/Carnagemagalluf they retweet 'What kind of person gives 24 bj's on holiday for a drink?! disgusting is an understatement @Carnagemagalluf #slag' and are basically totally gleeful about it until showing up to a press conference scared they might lose their licence and blaming the girl for doing exactly what she was told by them.

I don't see the girl as a victim. I see a bunch of drunk young adults getting pissed and being promiscuous. I'm the same age as the girl and I've been on holidays like this and got as drunk as that and never sucked 24 lads off.

I agree the bars/organisers should ban sex acts in the bar. I don't want to see that shit on my holiday.

As an aside, a girl I know bet her friend she could sleep with 16 lads in the weeks running up to her 16th birthday. It was well talked about in our town/school and on facebook etc. Roll on a few years and she is in a responsible job, relationship and has dc. So this may not haunt her as much as people think.

It reminds me of 'Kinga' and the bottle from Big Brother (not sure which one). She was apparently encouraged too and all the housemates were shitfaced.

Why is it always:
a) Women who are encouraged to do these things, and
b) Women are the only ones filmed doing these things?

I agree with Dawndonna and Squids. This is unfair and I'm aghast at the number of females who have their knives out/judgeypants hoiked for this girl and NOT for the instigators? We live in a different world now, a media world, where everything of interest is filed and recorded for perpetuity. This girl's life is essentially wrecked. Where were her friends? Where were the organisers? She could have been pulled aside, reminded that she was in public and counselled not to do this because of the consequences.

Yes, women have as much right as men to be promiscuous if they want to be. The double-standard still exists and yes, sometimes you've just got to get over that because it is a double-standard and is therefore unjust.

I'm sure that there's a precedent somewhere whereby a several pairs of teens were encouraged (by a radio competition) to board a plan with just an outward ticket, go as far as they could with that ticket - and find their own way home. As I recall, the radio company were shamed into getting a pair of stranded women home again rather than leaving them to their fate. We should be absolutely shaming this company, not this girl. I'm sure her mortified parents and her own shame will teach her a lesson and I really hope that she can get some counselling or somebody to talk this through with who will not judge her.

We should have one of those online petitions to rid ourselves of scummy companies like this who have jumped on the bandwagon to publicly denigrate and humiliate this girl further.

Cross-posted with AskBasil, agree with every word of her post.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 11/07/2014 16:35

... and I've just read Adams post; 'desire to be accepted' is dead right. The company has absolutely played on that.

AdamLambsbreath · 11/07/2014 16:43

Really, it's all been said by Basil.

I've never sucked off 24 guys in a bar either. But I'm not under the slightest illusion that that gives me 'virtuous woman' status [actually, probably lady status, no?] which allows me to stand in judgement of sluts who have been less careful of their precious honour. Particularly not when said 'sluts' are 18 years old, drunk, far from home and in the hands of sleazy DJs who are encouraging them to commit obscene acts for reward.

I've had one night stands. I'm well aware that there are swathes of this world - probably even of MN - where this would get me branded a 'slag'. And if that happened, I'd wish that someone would defend me and give me the benefit of the doubt rather than coming along and saying 'Well, I never did any of that. You're different from me. I got smashed and went home with someone and gave him a blow job, but I'd never have full sex with someone. Hand me that jagged stone, will you? I want to cast it.'

I think I'm going to have to hide this thread now.

Darkesteyes · 11/07/2014 16:49

Brilliant posts Ask Basil.

I hope to god neither of my dcs go on these holidays. My sister did once and witnessed a 17 yr old lad forcibly having shorts and pants removed by two reps. He was crying. Cunts

This is ASSAULT. And very probably not the only time its happened. In our recent changing climate and the recent prosecutions in a post Savile world......some of these reps and ex reps who carried out these kinds of assaults........may be starting to get very nervous.

weebarra · 11/07/2014 16:55

Yy to basil. I did things at 18 which were stupid and disrespectful of myself too. I have not rtft but has anyone pointed out the irony of using the word cunt as a term of abuse to a misogynist?

SouthernComforts · 11/07/2014 17:10

If that was aimed at me then re read my post. I haven't called anyone a slag or slut. I'm single and enjoy sex but I wouldn't do that, in public, on camera no matter how drunk I was. The girl chose to participate. As did the men. As did the bar and the rep etc. I just said I don't see any victims in the video.

It's a shame it has gone viral but in this day and age if you do something like that whilst being filmed then that's the risk you take.

x2boys · 11/07/2014 17:13

That's horrible nellyknickers that poor boy having his shorts and pants removed that is assault I can only echo what others have said I don't think anybody comes off well in this who!e sordid episode .

How aware do you think any of them were of the filming SC?

x2boys · 11/07/2014 17:22

How old are you southern comfort out of curiosity I am fourty now but was single for mainly all of my twenties I had one night stands flings etc nothing wrong with that some I enjoyed some were drunken mistakes but iagree the girl did choose to participate I ,been to magaluf I didn't see anything like this admittedly it was ten years ago have things changed so much?

SignYourName · 11/07/2014 18:15

I've slept with one man in my entire life - my husband - but that doesn't automatically make me a better or nicer person than anyone who has had a string of ONS and enjoys regular group sex, or give my opinion any more weight or 'virtue' than anyone else's. I despise slut-shaming, the double standard, the abiding view that women's characters are inherently bound up with their sexuality and the idea that a woman who has seen / handled more cock than some societal-approved arbitrary standard of acceptability is a 'slag' or 'slapper'.

Darkesteyes · 11/07/2014 18:18

YY Sign Ive never been drunk (Im 41) but that doesn't make me any better or worth more than someone who has.

YANBU Paul smith is a cunt of the cuntiest kind.

This is all a massive publicity stunt.

His twitter is awash with 'come and see the performing whores' type things.

The girl did something she will probably regret for a long time. Not because she gave a load of blokes a blow job for a non existent prize, but because some creature decided to film it and plaster it over the web.

Women can choose to fuck/suck/do whatever with whomever they choose. Men don't have the right to coerce women into doing it, film it and then call them slags.

mollypup · 11/07/2014 18:26

It does seem more the case that anyone who expresses an opinion that isn't 'woo, you go girl!' is considered to be 'slut shaming'.

Clearly, if you are happy to do that in a club, your morals are a bit askew.

The same goes for if a guy did it too, obviously.

I think she is a tarty so and so! Ew.

CaptChaos · 11/07/2014 18:28

Luckily Molly, the tabloid media shares your opinion.

Go you!

mollypup · 11/07/2014 18:29

justtherightbullets

well, its the difference between right and wrong.

how can be doing that ever be considered right?

mollypup · 11/07/2014 18:32

captchaos

the guys involved are clearly just as stupid, as is the person filming however the girl was still a willing participant in doing something horrible whichever way you look at it.

people can still have an opinion on those involved without it being 'slut shaming' just because you mentioned the female.

BillnTedsMostFeministAdventure · 11/07/2014 18:36

I haven't seen anyone say "woo, you go girl" - could you point me to that post, please?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/07/2014 18:38

I don't think what happened can possibly be right. I have not watched the video, but I doubt that all who witnessed it had consented to/expected to watch a live sex show.

If the men and women were all fully consenting, and did it in private there would be no issue.

SignYourName · 11/07/2014 18:40

I'm not saying "woo, you go girl!" I'm not holding this girl up as a heroine of the modern age nor the biggest whore since Jezebel. I don't think there was much to do with actual sex in this whole circus anyway - it was demeaning so-called 'entertainment', based as it was on tricking a girl into doing something outrageous and that was likely to bring her a level of disapprobation - society being what it is - on a false premise.

But I don't think that there is anything inherently wrong with wanting to have sex, or suck cock, or whatever. If she and the 24 men had all been genuinely freely consenting and equally 'up for it', had checked out each others' sexual health / practised safe sex and had buggered off to a hotel room to have group sex all night long, good luck to them.
