It reminds me of 'Kinga' and the bottle from Big Brother (not sure which one). She was apparently encouraged too and all the housemates were shitfaced.
Why is it always:
a) Women who are encouraged to do these things, and
b) Women are the only ones filmed doing these things?
I agree with Dawndonna and Squids. This is unfair and I'm aghast at the number of females who have their knives out/judgeypants hoiked for this girl and NOT for the instigators? We live in a different world now, a media world, where everything of interest is filed and recorded for perpetuity. This girl's life is essentially wrecked. Where were her friends? Where were the organisers? She could have been pulled aside, reminded that she was in public and counselled not to do this because of the consequences.
Yes, women have as much right as men to be promiscuous if they want to be. The double-standard still exists and yes, sometimes you've just got to get over that because it is a double-standard and is therefore unjust.
I'm sure that there's a precedent somewhere whereby a several pairs of teens were encouraged (by a radio competition) to board a plan with just an outward ticket, go as far as they could with that ticket - and find their own way home. As I recall, the radio company were shamed into getting a pair of stranded women home again rather than leaving them to their fate. We should be absolutely shaming this company, not this girl. I'm sure her mortified parents and her own shame will teach her a lesson and I really hope that she can get some counselling or somebody to talk this through with who will not judge her.
We should have one of those online petitions to rid ourselves of scummy companies like this who have jumped on the bandwagon to publicly denigrate and humiliate this girl further.
