To think that the outcome of any child abuse probe centering around Westminster is foregone?

And the outcome will be that no living politicians will be outed?

I think they will pin it on a few deceased MPs and continue to cover up the involvement of any public figures still alive. There might be one sacrificial lamb to silence the public but I think it will still be a big cover-up.

I do not believe that the police should police the police and that is exactly what is happening with Butler-Sloss heading the inquiry.

Yes, I think the timing is interesting.

misstiredbuthappy · 14/07/2014 20:12

What have I missed why is the timing suss ? probablya dumb question

SittingNextToSanta · 14/07/2014 21:51

Go on facebook and have a look at the comments on the news articles, that should tell you all you need to know.

William Hague has stepped down

SittingNextToSanta · 14/07/2014 22:08

Strokes chin...

AgentZigzag · 14/07/2014 22:20

Well I never.

The situation must be much worse than we thought if she's backing out.

misstiredbuthappy · 14/07/2014 22:32

Can it get any worse Shock

AgentZigzag · 14/07/2014 22:46

I thought it was pretty bad when they first said about Saville misstired, and look at how it's spread out since then.

Theresa May's said she still favours an individual to take over from BS rather than a panel of experts, still resistant to anyone getting to the bottom of it then.

The inquiry will be stuck with whoever they pick because nobody will be allowed to complain about it a second time.

edamsavestheday · 14/07/2014 22:49

Lots of politicians will be standing down (chucked out), there's a cabinet reshuffle. No connection to paedophilia.

misstiredbuthappy · 14/07/2014 22:51

Yes I see what you mean. Everytime I turn the news on or read a paper theres another twist in the tale. Shocking some of the things ive read that include certain celebs/mp's.

ssd · 15/07/2014 11:27

dont agree with your there edam

william hagues move seems very strange

CFSKate · 15/07/2014 14:46

The inquiry will be stuck with whoever they pick because nobody will be allowed to complain about it a second time.

They can't stop us protesting if we don't like it.

PhantomTollbooth · 15/07/2014 14:54

Hague will be stepping into a new international role that reflects his recent work with Jolie. Mark my words Wink

scandip · 16/07/2014 07:19

ssd It does seem a little strange in the current climate, yes.

cooperG · 16/07/2014 08:19

Edam, you don't think the timing of the cabinet reshuffle is suss?
It's either to take attention away from this, or/and the DRIP bill which has just been pushed through parliament unconstitutionally :/

fromparistoberlin73 · 16/07/2014 11:05

what a negative and depressing view OP

I really hope they seek advice, get someone good and out all the nastiness- once and for all

they cant squirm away from it now

scandip · 19/07/2014 00:50

Does anyone know how the protest on Friday went?

Whitershadeofpale · 19/07/2014 09:48

I saw some pictures on Facebook and it didn't look like there was that many people (someone said maybe 200 max). I think the problem was that it was short notice and on a weekday.

I was disappointed that it also seems to have been highjacked by our favorite MP and his followers and I saw quite a few 'say no to forced adoption' which tbh really annoys me and also seems totally irrelevant; these children were abused in care not in the homes of adoptive families.
