To think that the outcome of any child abuse probe centering around Westminster is foregone?

And the outcome will be that no living politicians will be outed?

I think they will pin it on a few deceased MPs and continue to cover up the involvement of any public figures still alive. There might be one sacrificial lamb to silence the public but I think it will still be a big cover-up.

I do not believe that the police should police the police and that is exactly what is happening with Butler-Sloss heading the inquiry.

I agree, IMO she has either an extreme lack of morals or an extreme excess of ego.

CalamitouslyWrong · 11/07/2014 22:49

Russell Brand might be a celebrity, but I don't for a second believe that anyone in any position of power is at all worried about him. Apart from anything else, he advocates militant apathy among the population, perhap with a bit of snarking on the side. Apathy is exactly what this issue does not need.

You may as well we clamouring for Peter Andre to take the establishment down. After all, he's a celebrity...

Although I'm not sure why I'm bothering on a thread where several people, including the OP, are certain that we should all listen to david icke.

Whitershadeofpale - hashtag is #CSAinquiry

twitter.com/hashtag/CSAinquiry

AgentZigzag · 11/07/2014 22:51

Just out of interest though (ie not being a goady fuck), is there an age anyone else would feel is just too old for her to be able to get a decent grip on what's going on with this?

Would it still be OK for her to take it on at 85/90/95 just because someone in the media says she's still fine to do the job?

Whitershadeofpale · 11/07/2014 22:55

Thanks cfs I've had to amend the hashtag I was using as I didn't realise hyphens don't work Blush to #notobs, which in a strange way seemed more apt Wink

MarmaladeShatkins · 11/07/2014 23:03

Aren't you the snarky one, Calamatious?

OP posts:
ParsingFlatly · 11/07/2014 23:09

Is it too late to suggest #nomoreBS as a hashtag?

Clearer than #notobs and works on several levels.

MarmaladeShatkins · 11/07/2014 23:10
Grin

That is excellent and very apt.

Whitershadeofpale · 11/07/2014 23:14

No it's not too late. I don't think the tweeting has really got going yet , so I can start using that.

MarmaladeShatkins · 11/07/2014 23:17

Try using that one and the other one together. More chance if people picking up on it then.

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 11/07/2014 23:21

Grin at #nomoreBS, I kept reading #notobs as #nobs.

Ok I've tweeted with the new hashtag (I think it's better too). I'm going to give it a rest for tonight and then try and get some retweets tomorrow.

Whitershadeofpale · 12/07/2014 00:00

Well I've said that but the retweets and favoriting of tweets has already begun. Let's get this trending!

TucsonGirl · 12/07/2014 00:09

What does marching and protesting achieve, exactly? It just makes people feel they are doing something, then they go home and nothing changes.

AgentZigzag · 12/07/2014 00:09

Someone (a MNtter?) has just tweeted 'Does everyone know Baroness BS was Conservative candidate for Lambeth? Nigel Havers said, 'She's had nothing to do with politics'. He lied.'

FFS, there needs to be an inquiry about the inquiry.

TucsonGirl · 12/07/2014 00:11

Bring in Interpol, or the CIA to do it, and give them complete access to anything they need. MPs must answer questions under oath or be jailed.

Whitershadeofpale · 12/07/2014 00:16

And why would they do that Tucson if we don't protest? What's in it for them?

AgentZigzag · 12/07/2014 00:22

They easily ignored the million and a half who marched against the Iraq war Tucs, I reckon this needs a charity who has a bit of clout to take a look.

Someone who has children's welfare at their core, because this isn't just about the children who were abused in the 80s (who are handily for The Establishment adults now), it's about how our children could be treated now.

I don't mean that our children could be prey to the Westminster deviants, which would be unlikely, but an inquiry that doesn't have the public's confidence is just carrying on the secrecy and in effect saying that those vulnerable children, all vulnerable children, are insignificant.

And you can be a vulnerable child at 15/16, if your children get to that age and decide to take off to see if London really is paved with gold, how can you stop them?

TucsonGirl · 12/07/2014 00:30

A charity? What the fuck is a charity going to do about it? Say naughty naughty and thats about it? You need someone who truly doesn't give a fuck about who they upset, someone that isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, to kick down doors, break thumbs and dig up graves. That doesn't describe any charity I know of.

AgentZigzag · 12/07/2014 00:52

Sad I know, you're right Tucson, I think whoever they get to do it would be in for a roasting.

Which is why people don't get as worked up as they could about it, you can't help thinking it's too big a situation to be able to personally do anything about, even if you feel strongly, and if you can't do anything what's the fucking point in getting angry?

If it implicates the government, church, schools, social services, police, doctors, institutions you have no choice but to trust, I can understand why 'the public' might be scared to shake the hornets nest.

What would be left?

Market forces?

AgentZigzag · 12/07/2014 00:54

' someone that isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, to kick down doors, break thumbs and dig up graves.'

The Met?

Maybe not.

TucsonGirl · 12/07/2014 01:30

The Met are far too cosy with the metropolitan elite who run this country. It needs to be someone from outside the UK that investigates IMO.

AgentZigzag · 12/07/2014 01:46

I wasn't seriously suggesting the fascist bully boys met tucs, I'm not after anyone who fucks the government off having their heads stoved in.

Thing is, if it's an 'unknown', like Chris Fay they might be trusted to put what they find in writing (if their families and jobs aren't threatened) but haven't got the experience needed to take on such a huge task, but any 'big names' like BS are a product of The Establishment and can't be trusted.

Someone from abroad wouldn't be in any better position than BS. Where would they be from? America? I can't see that going down well.
