My lovely fella is very anaemic, has abdomen and pelvic pain, and is losing weight at a very fast rate.
He is diabetic and has an auto immune illness. They are currently under control but these new symptoms are frightening....
We are currently waiting on test results but im so afraid im going to lose him soon.

Lulu He'll probably need chemo. They are concentrating on sorting out his abdomen before going in to too much detail about further therapy.

He sat in a chair today and it cheered him up so much smile. Still in ITU but was definitely brighter. He's already chosen our wedding song and every time I hear it I cry... He's telling everyone that we are getting married Grin

So glad he is feeling brighter and has been up in a chair. Hope tomorrow is a better day again for you both.

Downamongtherednecks · 22/07/2014 02:29

Great news! Get on with planning the wedding, we want to hear all about it!

LuisSuarezTeeth · 22/07/2014 06:59

What a cracking song!

Glad to hear he's able to sit up.

Hoping this new day brings good stuff x

LuisSuarezTeeth · 28/07/2014 20:46

Just to say I am still thinking of you and DP. Haven't seen you about for a few days x

Lovely fella came home on monday. Wound still open but granulating well.
So lovely to spend time together.
Waiting to hear what will happen next regarding the cancer remaining in his liver and lymph nodes. Hes being really positive and plans on making at least 5 years. Hopefully we'll be lucky with that.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported us in this thread.
To know someone was listening has made all the difference in how we have dealt with this devastating diagnosis.

Much un-mumsnetty love to you all Thanks

LucyBabs · 31/07/2014 00:13

Oh Lud I have a massive lump in my throat
You and your lovely Man sound like amazing people.

My Mam had a similar cancer she had bowel ops and was so ill after.

Best wishes to you both Flowers

Ludoole · 31/07/2014 01:25

Thankyou Lulujakey1 and Lucybabs
He asked me today if I wanted to walk away...he said he would fully understand if I did.
Told him his was a flipping idiot if he thought I would!! He's been my best friend since i was 18, so 20 years on he should know how much he means to me!!
He's absolute skin and bone at the minute! Used to love the fact he had a belly like mr greedy, and hes now 9 stone and literally not an ounce of fat on him...
He's all mine though and I still fancy the pants off the skinny little fella Grin

Lud... I'm sure you'll get the chance to fatten him up a bit. I hope he's feeling better very soon so that you can make plans for your wedding. That should lift the spirits of both of you.

Length of time you have together is not as important as the quality of the time you have, that really matters the most, that you get to enjoy each other.

So nice to see you checking back on the thread and thank you for the updates. I think you're both in many people's thoughts. Thanks

LuluJakey1 · 31/07/2014 07:06

My grandad had 8 years after his op and they were good years.

Get him eating and a bit stronger, have a lovely wedding and go away and enjoy a honeymoon Grin

LuisSuarezTeeth · 31/07/2014 08:38

Glad he's home!

Your updates have brought tears to my eyes.
I can just feel all the love pouring out of each and every one of them.
Wishing you years of happiness.
Thanks for you both!

Eleanora · 31/07/2014 21:17

Wishing you all the very best.

My Mum had metastatic bowel cancer 8 years ago - surgery then chemo - and now she's absolutely fine. Don't despair...

Have a lovely wedding, x
