What age?

DS (6) likes frustration, guess who, operation and top trumps. DD (3) loves hungry hippos and is learning to join in with frustration.

FourEyesGood · 30/06/2014 21:17

Guess Who? is popular here (DCs are 6 and 3; the 3yo is just learning how to play it), as is Connect 4 (3yo doesn't get it at all, but enjoys putting the discs into the playing grid).

HecatePropylaea · 30/06/2014 21:18

How old?

When mine were younger they liked this pirate thing, buckaroo and one with fish and fishing rods.

They are teenagers now and have no interest at all in board games.

Which means I never get to play. Sad

londonrach · 30/06/2014 21:19

What age... The house jack built, guess who, game of life...

londonrach · 30/06/2014 21:19

Rings on your fingers

Pipbin · 30/06/2014 21:19

We love Qwerkle. Very simple game, I think children from about 7 up could play it.

Think scrabble but without the need to spell.

itiswhatitiswhatitis · 30/06/2014 21:20

Which Guess Who have you got? The new one with the doors rather than the faces that flip down is garbage, drives me mad!

Here, it's Connect 4, Monopoly Junior and Frustration (dds aged 6 and 7) and Shopping List or Soundtracks (dd aged 3)

GoingToBedfordshire · 30/06/2014 21:21

Uno is brilliant too.

GoingToBedfordshire · 30/06/2014 21:23

They also love snakes and ladders but it always ends in tears (occasionally mine).

phantomnamechanger · 30/06/2014 21:24

Mine like all the old ones - cleudo monopoly scrabble - MIL even has totopoly and they love it

uno and boggleslam for camping (card games)

we also have this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LABYRINTH-THE-MOVING-MAZE-GAME-ITS-MAGIC-RAVENSBURGER-1992-COMPLETE-RARE-/191217827327?pt=UK_Toys_Games_Games&hash=item2c85787dff which is excellent

queribus · 30/06/2014 21:26

Uno

Dobble

Monopoly

Junior Scrabble

Family Trivial Pursuit

wineoclocktimeye · 30/06/2014 21:28

Whats Up is a favourite here with my 7 year old

Lesshastemorespeed · 30/06/2014 21:28

We don't play board games. It all ends in tears.

Get a swing ball.

Karoleann · 30/06/2014 21:28

My almost 6 year old likes labyrinth too, connect 4 (there's aversion where it shoots too), talisman, UNO, rummikub, post the most, dungeon quest, game of life.

Fuzzyfeltrabbit · 30/06/2014 21:29

Ohh labyrinth is a good one for adults and children! It's lots of fun

sexypantsformum · 30/06/2014 21:29

got a swing ball, kids love it. ....so does the hubby.
weve got him a goal post set.

Monopoly
Frustration
Operation
Disney trivial pursuit
Junior scrabble
Kerplunk
are the favourites in this house. DD is 8

PixieofCatan · 30/06/2014 21:32

No kids, but the games we lilke can be adjusted for them:
Settlers of Catan
Union Pacific
Dominion

I've played Settlers with my younger (5 & 7yo) charges, and Domion with a teen charge. All good fun :)

We have quirkle but we're not fans, I can see how it's an appealing game with kids. There's this story-telling one that DP has played that looks like i'll be good for kidfs, but he wasn't a fan of it.

I*'ve played uno with my charges and they love that, I do too Grin

phantomnamechanger · 30/06/2014 21:32

LOL it's swing ball that always ends in tears here black eyes and strangulation by the cord

londonrach · 30/06/2014 21:33

Hate kerplunk as a child. You spent ages setting up as last person won. (Children memories come back)

rowna · 30/06/2014 21:33

Labyrinth, Coppit, Rushhour

phantomnamechanger · 30/06/2014 21:33

grr strikeout fail Blush

CrapBag · 30/06/2014 21:34

Oh yeah, ludo and snakes and ladders too. DS really likes games.

So many more I need to introduce him too.
