It's up there will 'hollibobs' for me.

I think the sentence 'off on hollibobs with the hubster' (which I've just seen on FB) might tip me over the edge.

Joysmum I use DH on mumsnet so I come across a bit better, in real life in the last 48 hours, I have called him arsebag, arsebanger, cnt, fud, fanny, fckwit, eejit, useless b*stard etc etc but if I used those on here people would think I don't love him Sad

The one I hate is yolo. F*ck off with your yolo - I don't need reminding

I hate the word "furbaby". It's not a small child covered in fur, it's a dog. Or a cat.

YY to bubba / l'il man/woman - cringe!

My problem is I start to use some phrases ironically with like-minded friends and then find they become a habit. I caught myself using "amazeballs" on FB the other day Blush

Outflewtheweb · 03/07/2014 07:14

Anyone, ANYONE saying 'Methinks' should be banished to another planet.

SignYourName · 03/07/2014 07:18

Methinks you over-react, Outflew...

PastaandCheese · 03/07/2014 07:43

sighyournMe I have a friend who compared looking after her dog to me looking after children.

Apart from this she is perfectly normal and nice.

MinnyMouse · 03/07/2014 07:45

Methinks you lot are sooooo harsh.

Where is your sense of humour? Wink

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 03/07/2014 07:50

I really cannot stand "lil man". Horrible. One of my utterly lovely friends uses it on occasion and it makes me cringe

Shodan · 03/07/2014 08:05

"Are you going out with hubby and kiddies?"

No I am not. I'm going out with my husband and my children, you annoying twat.

Although, if I'm feeling particularly devil-may-care, I might accept 'kids'.

I have my sister's MIL (for complicated reasons) on my FB. She is forever lolling at nothing, usually after drinkypoos with hubby and her besties. And then her besties all lol back at her and drown her posts in !!!!! and xxxxx.

It irks me.

Ilovecake80 · 03/07/2014 08:10

How's the little man? Argh he is not my little man he won't be a man for a long time and even then he won't be my man! He will be my son. For now he's my lovely little boy or son.

Hubster, hate that word usually said by people not even married. YANBU btw op. Loving the meaning chubby husband.

Date night, hate it too. you are not dating you have been together years, have the house and the kids together. You are having a night out or a takeaway.

YANBU. Hubby is bad enough!

TheHandbagOfGlory · 03/07/2014 08:36

We are on holiday just now, by the sea and all the cottages have names like "Sailfish Cottage" and "Pebbles Cottage" (that gives away where I am to anyone that's been here)

One of the ones around the corner is called "Hollibobs Cottage"

Panwearsjaune · 03/07/2014 08:38

I'd luuurve to stay in Holibobs Cottage. It would make me super happy.Smile

Mrsjayy · 03/07/2014 08:40

TheHandbagOfGlory · 03/07/2014 08:44

I've become a bit obsessed by the names of the cottages Blush next year I want to stay in "Flip Flops Cottage"

EvilTendency1 · 22/12/2014 21:51

I have never ever wanted to call my OH "Babe"

"You ok Babe?"

Trills · 22/12/2014 21:57

Does anyone on MN actually read DH as "darling husband" or DD as "darling daughter"?

I just read it as a shorter way to say "my husband" or "Sarah" or whatever you would say in a normal conversation.

cigarsofthepharaoh · 22/12/2014 22:20

I use all of these - most ironically...but often 'babe', 'baby', 'wifester' etc sincerely Xmas Blush Xmas Grin
