It's up there will 'hollibobs' for me.

I think the sentence 'off on hollibobs with the hubster' (which I've just seen on FB) might tip me over the edge.

OP posts:

Nibbly bits.
Sipsies and nibbles.
Anything nibble-related, really.

PastaandCheese · 29/06/2014 22:22

I'm also in the 'hubby' is worse camp.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 29/06/2014 22:22

What's a sipsie ? Is it the same as drinky poos ?
I am guilty of many of these, but i do it in a tongue in cheek sort of way, which makes me a cool dudio. Wink

MrsCosmopilite · 29/06/2014 22:30

I once stayed with someone for a fortnight. Every night around 10pm she'd say to her boyfriend "Time for sleepy-bo-bo's". Every fucking night.

And agree with everything upthread other than 'nibbly bits' used sparingly as it was a favourite of my late Pa to suggest a glass of wine and some 'nibbly bits' as a late night snack.

caruthers · 29/06/2014 22:41

I don't know why but the word snacks gets right on my nerves.

VillageFete · 29/06/2014 22:45

Hubby & hubster make me feel physically ill.

I also despise parent's calling their young son "lil man" "little man" etc... What's wrong with "Son"??

SmellsOfBiscuits · 29/06/2014 22:59

Sipsies?

WTF.

emptyhouse12 · 29/06/2014 23:02

I've just seen 'hubbles' ffs on FB! ??

AryaOfHouseSnark · 29/06/2014 23:08

I would probably never use sipsie though, maybe glugsie, glugsies and scoffsies ?

MrMacadoo · 29/06/2014 23:09

my friend uses the word "husby" which I really can't stand!

madboob · 29/06/2014 23:12

Lappy (laptop)
Stabby
Hun/huni/hunnie/hon
Any text speak on a fb status
Confusing of/off & their/there/they're

madboob · 29/06/2014 23:13

And I always read DH as Dick Head, always!

AnonymousBird · 29/06/2014 23:15

What is hubster?

Jubelteen · 29/06/2014 23:17

MissOtis hanging = hanging out of your arse, so not a cutsey word for hangover.

AlpacaPicnic · 29/06/2014 23:20

I fucking hate, with a passion, the phrase din-dins. 'You off for din-dins then?' No I am off for my fucking dinner... I'm 3fucking6 Angry

I had a colleague that used to say it to me a lot. She was very patronising in other ways as well but that was the one that grated. I asked her nicely not to say it. She said it more. I gave her the death stare. She accused me of having no sense of humour. I refused to speak to her until she apologised.

Neither of us came out of it well...

Laymizzrarb · 29/06/2014 23:22

Hon and Uni make my teeth itch. Shortening university is just lazy and sounds sloppy. same as saying telly instead of television. Saying a few more syllables is not going to kill anyone.

twinklestar2 · 29/06/2014 23:24

I hate it when people say da instead of the and dat instead of that. Just talk properly FFS!!

AmIthatHot · 29/06/2014 23:25

hermione. I've had to lie down in a darkened room with smelling salts thanks to y y y yum ski.

I judge those that say yum and yummy. This is just taking it to the next level

ComposHat · 29/06/2014 23:26

Anything or anyone described as l'il.

I will make an exception for L'il Sebastian in Parks and Recreation.

flingingmelon · 29/06/2014 23:30

How come there have been so many replies and yet no one has mentioned 'the wifey'?

Confused
IAmANightOwl · 29/06/2014 23:32

Agree with hating hubster, hollibobs, nom noms, hun/hunni etc. as I have FB friends that regularly use them Hmm I also hate the use of the word messy, as in 'Last night was well messi!' Angry Wtf? Why? Angry

Lurleene · 29/06/2014 23:37

Cool beans. Angry

That gives me the rage. There's a man I know vaguely through work who signs all his e-mails off in this way.

WTF does it even mean?

Cool chuffin beans.

fatowl · 29/06/2014 23:38

My SIL aways adds to the end of her status updates about her kids

"Bless her" or worse "Bless her cotton socks"

She also uses Hollibobs and Hubby.

If I see Hubster she will be be on hide.

I have another acquaintance who simply lists the chores she has done that day (normal stuff) and adds "phew, exhausted, time for feet up and a coffee lol" Every.single.day.

IAmANightOwl · 29/06/2014 23:45

fatowl I also have one of those friends who lists chores (could it be the same one?!)! Grin

appealtakingovermylife · 30/06/2014 00:09

I hate seeing on fb, "cuz" just so everyone knows they're related to the person and "fambo" ( had a fab time at bbq with all the fambo ) cringe!
