It's up there will 'hollibobs' for me.

I think the sentence 'off on hollibobs with the hubster' (which I've just seen on FB) might tip me over the edge.

Eeeuuuu yanbu

SevenZarkSeven · 29/06/2014 21:04

Is hubster meant to imply that the husband is overweight? I've not heard it before and my immediate thought was it's a cross between hubbie and chubster.

VitoCorleone · 29/06/2014 21:05

Hubster?! Christ

I think people referring to food as 'nom noms' is even fucking worse though

FinickityCoder · 29/06/2014 21:05

YANBU. Funnily enough the only people I know in real life who say 'hubster' or 'the hubby' arn't even married!

GiniCooper · 29/06/2014 21:07

Seven I was just going to ask that question myself.
Chubby husband?

Dontmakemecometovegas · 29/06/2014 21:13

Ha ha at chubby husband = hubster.

I don't really mind most terms of endearment (although one or two make me giggle!).
The only one that really gives me the creeps is "munchkin" after watching 'The Widower'.

startwig1982 · 29/06/2014 21:17

Vile. I can't bear hubby either and have thought about defriending someone who uses it regularly.

Trondheim · 29/06/2014 21:28

YABU to have introduced me to this word. Hmm

LiberalLibertines · 29/06/2014 21:32

Annie Grin

MissOtisRegretsMadam · 29/06/2014 21:33

Grin at chubby husband... I think I may be the proud owner of one.

" hanging" for hangover.... Why??

bleurghblah · 29/06/2014 21:36

YANBU. It's fucking horrible and they are clearly idiots.

I do say holibob to my kid though... But not on facebook

NoArmaniNoPunani · 29/06/2014 21:37

What is a jollibobs?

Only1scoop · 29/06/2014 21:38

Hollibobs

Hubster

And 'baby'

used by a colleague when she speaks to her 50 year old husband....

Vomit

miffybun73 · 29/06/2014 21:38

Never heard hubster, hubby is horrendous enough - I will never say either of those words.

Only1scoop · 29/06/2014 21:38

Wtf is jollibobs?

MrsAtticus · 29/06/2014 21:39

I always thought the DH thing on MN was a bit tongue in cheek?

LineRunner · 29/06/2014 21:40

Hubby. A word that rhymes with Les Dennis.

Harriebabe · 29/06/2014 21:45

YANBU! Hate it, along with nom nom and one that particularly makes me clench: bless. At the end of every sentence about any fucking person/place/animal either spoken or written down.

Also, To die for ..... really? (And that one, which DS2 keeps saying).

SirChenjin · 29/06/2014 21:48

The one that really makes me clench is "going forward". I'm hearing this more and more in normal, non-work-related conversation, and the next person who utters those 2 stupid words is going to know my wrath, I tell you.

oohdaddypig · 29/06/2014 21:54

I dunno. "Hubbie" causes me rage and an irrational judgement about the person who has said it.

I'm clearly a grumpy person as I also HATE -

"Totes" - totes amazing. Totes vomit.
Chillax.
Little man - totes agree
Hollibobs - toe curlingly awful
Glass of "bubbly"
Snuggle
Nibbles.

I'm going to chillax with a glass of bubbly and nibbles and snuggle with hubbie before hollibobs with the little man tomorrow. Totes amazing.

finds a place where other humans aren't

GingerRodgers · 29/06/2014 22:02

There's someone on my fb who I really need to hide really winds me up, only she writes 'reali' and mixes up 'of' and 'off'.
Her sister writes on her wall in 'txt spk' which I cannot for the life of me work out.
She also adds a ridiculous amount of letterssssss Hmm to words. Why? What is the neeeeeeed?

Agree that 'nom nom' should never be used. Ever. Angry

GiniCooper · 29/06/2014 22:03

MissOtis never heard hanging for a hangover but I'm Irish and would have heard hanging being used for being really tired.

LiberalLibertines · 29/06/2014 22:08

Nom nom and my bad are the ones that have my eyes rolling.

LiberalLibertines · 29/06/2014 22:12

I say hanging for hang over! Hanging like a rusty sign Confused
