Not really an ibu but it's a nice thread so sue me.

I got my first pay check in 5 years so I thought I'd treat my self to some perfume, I'm a cleaner so it can't be to fancy or I'd feel silly.

Iv tried a few but I can't find any I like.

Has any one got or tried amazing grace by philosophy?

What's your favourite perfume and why?

Jour d'hermes is current favourite. Years and years ago I used to wear Clinique Aromatics until a woman I worked with had to tell me she got a walloping headache from it. She was mortified to tell me and I was mortified to hear it. Haven't worn it since and if I somehow get a whiff of it it's almost gag inducing. Blush

VirkeligRodet · 29/06/2014 00:33

oh yes, that is the most overwhelming scent. I used to smell it in the shop and wonder who would like it, who would buy it! (aromatics).

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/06/2014 00:36

Recently I've been wearing Hermés eau des mervelles. I love it.

La Prarie Silver Rain is my absolute favourite. When I wear it, people always comment on it. Acqua di Parma is another that I love. Very clean and fresh. Congratulations on your new job, and enjoy treating yourself. I always love buying perfume.

AshaH1982 · 29/06/2014 01:14

I was gifted a bottle of Silver Rain, Shadows, but it goes 'off' on my skin. I keep it because the bottle is beautiful! DP uses an Acqua di Parma cologne and I sometimes nick a splash...

Flower by kenso.
Gorgeous fresh fragrance x

I don't wear perfume any more, but when I did, I liked Fendi Theorema and Clarins Par Amour - the red one, not the pink - for evenings.

In daytime I liked YSL's Y or a Calvin Klein Eternity thingy - I think it was watery blue.

I can't bear men who wear aftershave.

Dd1 is a big perfume fan and it varies what she wears but at the moment she switches between one direction perfume which smells surprisingly lovely and I do rob a squirt of it and one called sunflowers. Shes got about a hundred different perfumes. She does say that the same one can smell different on different people, and does a small sample squirt and then sniffs it an hour later to see what it smells like on her.

Charlieboo30 · 29/06/2014 15:23

I love either Hugo Boss Femme or Ghost. On a day to day basis I don't think you can beat next perfumes - either Gold or Desire.

It's funny how perfume is such a personal experience. DP usually chooses really well for perfumes but he bought me DKNY red delicious (the bottle looks like an apple) and I hate it. It gives me headache.

wonderingsoul · 29/06/2014 15:26

I have tried the sunflowers.. From supererogatory.. It was actually really nice but not the smell I was after.

As for men.. A nice smelling man can absolutely floor me, I love when one walks past and it makes me want to turn round and follow them lol

Oh, I also like Ralph Lauren Big Pony #3.

wonderingsoul · 29/06/2014 15:31

I a Hugo boss one yesterday, I didn't originally like it but once it died down it was quite nice and lasted quite a few hours.

Depends on my mood.
Bulgaria Jasmin (not the jasmine noir) is very light and floral, as is flowers by kenzo.
Chanel no. 5 as a basic.
Gucci guilty as an evening perfume (or kenzo Jungle)
Jimmy choo as a day to evening perfume.

Spend your time picking. One that smells lovely on a friend can smell horrible on me. I always put a good spritz of a couple on my wrists in debenhams or boots and see how they smell after an hour or 2 before I decide if I like them.

wonderingsoul · 29/06/2014 15:39

I do like the guggci guilty range, but for a night time, which may have to be my next treat next month.

ILoveCoreyHaim · 29/06/2014 16:01

BTW the Towie one I actually quite like, not too sure about the Joey one though.

MsVenus · 29/06/2014 16:01

I think the Isy Miyake copy by M&S is called Isis and I love both as they are fresh, everyday scents.

I also love Samsara by Guerlain but its an evening/ winter scent.

Serge Noir by Serge Lutens same as above plus

Vertiver by Tom Ford same as above

Eva by Benefit is a beautiful daytime scent & 30
