I like that La Roux...and Marina and the Diamonds...where did they go?

Just googled though and found that La Roux has in fact got a new album out...maybe the question should be why does it take some artists so long between albums?

that's a daft question too...it's a lot of work I suppose!

Do they just go into normal jobs? I can't imagine most have enough money to retire on.

Totally if you watch programmes like The Voice not me, no no, you'll see a lot of stories of one-hit wonders who just blend back in, working in the stockroom in Aldi or something.

Didn't everyone love finley, then he had a kiss and tell who said he had disgusting body odour, and everyone went off him?.

The boring but true answer is that people thinking they are good doesn't always equate to sales. They might have a decent-selling first album which spawns three hit singles with diminishing returns (say a no.1, a no.27 and then the next failing to chart at all, like Chesney Hawkes), and then the second has to be written at great speed, while also on tour.

Often the label drops them, and they go indie or self-financed or crowdsourced for the 2nd album, and don't get the same exposure. They're still doing stuff but it doesn't get Radio 1, 2 or 6 airplay, which kills it stone dead.

Stealth Ben Folds Five toured the UK last year - saw them at Rock City - was a good night. Ben Folds is a judge on some American idol type show as well

Thanks toot. Im not a fan really but they are the only band afaik who released a song of my name. And they were verywhere in the 90s then seemed to just anish. Good to know they didnt!
