I like that La Roux...and Marina and the Diamonds...where did they go?

Just googled though and found that La Roux has in fact got a new album out...maybe the question should be why does it take some artists so long between albums?

I'm sure I read somewhere that two years is the lifespan of a lot of artists/bands - in particular boy/girl bands, because there's usually only two outcomes:

1. They work really hard for that time, are exhausted, and have little to show for it at the end of the day so think 'Bugger this'

Nowadays there's also option 3: They run out of money a few years down the line/think FINALLY here's their chance to make some real money and do the comeback tour…

Upon opening this thread I had Eagle Eye Cherry "Save Tonight" in my head. That was a catchy song and he just buggered off the face of the Earth after.

Now I'm always a bit when someone is apparently "the next big thing" because most of them disappear not long after. Little Boots is another recent one who had a good song then vanished.
