I think 7.

DD1 thinks she could easily do 12-15.

DD2 doesn't like them.

Would it be frightfully unreasonable to test this hypothesis?

I can and have eaten 4 jammy ones in a competition with dp.
I love custard donuts. I do my big clean on a Monday, take the toddler to nursery and sit down with a custard donut, cup of tea and a book

Never had a krispy kreme. Am I missing out?

Igneococcus · 26/06/2014 08:44

I could eat probably 3 of the ones my mother makes (filled with rosehip jam, never chocolate or custard) and then would feel a bit unwell, never had a Krispy Kreme.
These deep-fried, vanilla sugar covered lovely things however I could eat until I pass out.

I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut. There. I've said it.

However I could happily eat a whole pack of jam doughnuts. In honesty I could probably eat more, but I've always restricted myself to 1 and 1 is NEVER ENOUGH.

lowcarbforthewin · 26/06/2014 09:15

I don't think more than two! I need to schedule in some doughnut time this year, haven't had one since I was a child.

I used to houseshare with a doctor. It was a regular thing that he'd come in after a massively long day having eaten nothing and then sit there and eat 5 doughnuts for his supper. His poor body!

Kasterborous · 26/06/2014 09:41

At the moment probably 2, however when I was pregnant it was about 22.

SinglePringle · 26/06/2014 09:46

Bobby 15 donuts in 24(ish) hrs?! Shock.

Bloody hell...!

KirjavaTheCat · 26/06/2014 09:48

Two.

BreadForBrains · 26/06/2014 12:43

Jesus, I have a sweet tooth and I'm completely Shock that some of you cab manage 5 supermarket jam ones and totally flabbergasted that there are others who could eat more! Wow!

weatherall · 26/06/2014 12:46

The little tiny ones in a pack at the bakery section of the supermarket? The whole pack.

The huge ones from a deli- 3

I could prob eat loads more if I tried though.

I have a huge stomach!

FindoGask · 26/06/2014 12:48

My first ever (and so far only) Krispy Kreme was a huge disappointment. The way people go on about them, I was expecting a truly revelatory, road-to-Damascus type donut moment. I'm told it might've been because I got mine from a concession and not freshly baked at source, but I'm unconvinced.

On the other hand, my mum used to get us two sugar-crusted jam donuts each from the bakery each after school some days, and it didn't take me very long at all to eat those. Bright pink molten raspberry jam in the middle, sometimes still warm from the oven. Perfection.

NickiFury · 26/06/2014 12:52

Jam a pack of 5 easily.

Ring, freshly cooked, hot and all crispy and sugary? I wouldn't want to put a limit on that.

MorrisZapp · 26/06/2014 12:53

I bought a dozen KC glazed donuts once to take to an afternoon with friends. They all ate one then professed they couldn't eat another.

So I cut the remaining donuts into bite sized peices and guess what, the whole lot got hoovered up in minutes.

So the answer may be... more than you think, if you do it one bite at a time.

Kikaninchen · 26/06/2014 12:56

Depends how fresh they are.

Freshly made, still warm, I could probably keep on eating and eating.

Stale and old, I wouldn't even manage 1.

I don't think I could eat more than 2 with filling or icing at one sitting, unless I had a huge cup of coffee to accompany them.

CremeEggThief · 26/06/2014 12:58

It wouldn't even occur to me to eat more than two in a day.

trikken · 26/06/2014 12:59

A pack of jam ones easily. Im not fussed about ring ones and absolutely detest krispy kremes.

trikken · 26/06/2014 13:00

A 5 pack of tesco ones I mean. Yum

CelibacyCakeandElevatorMuzac · 26/06/2014 13:03

I'm incredibly greedy and prone to binge eating. I could eat a bag of 5 supermarket jam donuts - I'd feel sick after but wouldn't be able to stop myself during!

Cream filled I reckon 2.

Fairground fresh, 5 .

My mum doesn't "get" donuts, she occasionally eat them and is guaranteed to declare "no, far too doughy" Confused

Sicaq · 26/06/2014 13:03

They're quite fluffy and airy, so usually go down quicker than planned.

GobblersKnob · 26/06/2014 13:03

10? 20? Probably more, I have no off button for sweet things, which is why I gave up sugar Grin

HighwayDragon · 26/06/2014 13:11

I can and have eat the 5 pack you get in supermarkets, I only every buy a pack at a time for this exact reason...

bobbywash · 26/06/2014 13:21

Single

Yes, well actually quite a lot less than 24 hours, I bought them in the afternoon, and was then told that no one liked custard (the mad fools) so ate 10 by 7.00pm, then had the remaining 5 for 11.00'ses the following morning

I only held off on the 5 as I thought 15 in a full evening wasn't a good idea, and anyway, "I didn't want to spoil me tea"

canweseethebunnies · 26/06/2014 14:02

I just ate two Gregg's filled iced doughnuts and I feel sick. The lemon was grim and it tasted like toilet cleaner, but I'm pregnant and needed the sugar!

I have tried a Pippin doughnuts Youdont. Yum but expensive. I wonder if you are local to me? They only sell them in a couple of locations, I think.

TKKW · 26/06/2014 14:03

i think about 6 jam or custard ones that you get in bags from supermarket bakeries!

Nancy66 · 26/06/2014 14:25

throughout the day, if I ate nothing else, I'd say about nine.

In one sitting: 2-3

only glazed ring though, keep yer jam-filled/custard-filled shit
