Perhaps I am...but where are they now?

Come hither lamented playmates and fill my heart with joy and laughter.

I actually wrote that song but it was nicked off me.

Fuckers.

oh I see

that's why we moved, mostly

we have had a fourth bedroom (the third merely a large cupboard, really, but what the hell) and second bathroom for a year (loft conversion)

the novelty of asking/being asked 'but which toilet??' hasn't worn off yet

Grin

ah go on, move, it's great

EleanorHandbasket · 23/06/2014 15:44

I'm moving. On Friday. I may have mentioned it once or twice on that Facebook.

Hullygully · 23/06/2014 15:50

Perhaps just in passing, dear Eleanor. Moving is very exciting. We are in flux, I am finding it most unsettling.

SpringHeeledJack · 23/06/2014 17:09

ach, moving is fine just as long as you don't

-move, say, seven rooms' worth of stuff into six rooms. Because: maths

-use Stress 3 Moves of Catford

if you do either OR BOTH of these things, you'll spend three months afterwards just crying. Surrounded by towers of dusty boxes, a monument to your great hubris and folly.

Apparently.

FellReturneth · 23/06/2014 17:27

She's bought a rubbish house, that Eleanor. It's the size of a matchbox and it's really old and tatty, with one and a half bedrooms. I've seen the photos and it looks like that street where White Dee lives. In fact I'm sure it's got Fungi in the cupboard under the stairs.

Hullygully · 23/06/2014 17:51

Stress 3 Moves of Catford

And you went with them...?

OP posts:
SpringHeeledJack · 23/06/2014 18:40

I was unsettled and in flux and they seemed such nice* young men

*cheap

Hullygully · 23/06/2014 18:52

a heady brew: unsettlement, flux and cheapness

Hullygully · 23/06/2014 18:52

Where would you live? Soon I can live anywhere, but I find I am approaching the age where a whole new life would be exhausting.

Mintyy · 23/06/2014 19:02

But why do you want to move Hully? What's wrong with your current manor?

I wouldn't move too far from friends. At my age I cba with trying to make new ones. We did that once when we were 30ish - moved from Dalston to Devon and it was just AWFUL. We came back after 2 years.

We like our old friends and even our old families in small doses.

SpringHeeledJack · 23/06/2014 19:10

personally I'm looking to Scotland- after the yes vote and the UKIP/Tory coalition

Sad Sad Sad

I just need to find a city or town that likes- no,hang on, needs- English people who have no discernible talent for ANYthing. Oh, and that are thick enough to think that hiring a firm called Stress 3 Moves is a good idea

should be a piece of piss

iK8 · 23/06/2014 19:18

We're also playing the "shall we move?" game too after I realised that I don't need to be in That London. Sadly we both have a large dose of inertia and no money for a move so instead we procrastinate.

If anyone identifies somewhere like Bath or Richmond within spitting distance of M25 where you can get 4 beds, 2 baths and a decent garden for £350k-ish and that could not ever be described as an "executive home" please let me know.

iK8 · 23/06/2014 19:23

Or even just somewhere with 3 beds and nobody climbing in our front bush in the wee small hours while their mate takes photos of god only knows what Hmm

EleanorHandbasket · 23/06/2014 19:34

It does have a big enough cupboard under the stairs to put Dh in. He's a fun guy...

MrsVamos · 24/06/2014 08:42

Hello all !

Many thanks for birthday wishes. Smile

I know, aren't I lucky ! Rafa today, lets hope he can make it to day 3 this year...

TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/06/2014 08:43

We are doing the "shall we move" thing at the moment.

Why, I don't know. Because it will be another 3 years before dd and ds are at uni and we can actually move out of That London.

Dh keeps looking at random places on right move and showing me houses.
I have to keep relplying "yes the house is lovely. Yes it's a good price. Yes it's a nice area. BUT do you actually think that house is still going to be on the market in 3 years time? No? then stop showing me houses

Oh well

TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/06/2014 08:47

Oh and Stress 3 movers?

The moving company we used last time was called M8s R8s

I suspect that means Mates Rates in actual English.

Dh booked them. I was 6 months pregnant.

To this day I don't know how he didn't end up under the patio. They got lost. Twice.

SpringHeeledJack · 24/06/2014 09:42

HA HA HA HA HA

your M8S R8S has just blown my Stress 3 Moves out of the water

Poledra · 24/06/2014 09:59

Reviews for Springy's Stress 3 moves. It doesn't look good....

Sadly, it appears that Tantrum's move went very badly because M8s R8s are in fact a driving school on the NE. Did they turn up in a fleet of dual-control Renault Clios for the move, perchance? Grin

iK8 · 24/06/2014 10:46

Perhaps we should organise a house swap between those that have grown tired of their massive pile by the sea and those who have outgrown a tiny house in That London?

After a month I bet we'd all be desperate to swap back... or it'd be great and we'd all be blissfully happy.

farewellfigure · 24/06/2014 12:59

What a lovely thread. It's great to see so many names I remember from the old days. There really are some utter morons on these days aren't there?! Hello everyone.

farewellfigure · 24/06/2014 14:22

Just out of interest, what's with all the toilet threads recently? Are people getting off on them (not the lovely people on this thread obviously)? Hully your answer to the poo one made me laugh out loud.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 24/06/2014 22:01

and whats with all the zombie threads too?

NormaStanleyFletcher · 25/06/2014 04:49

Since there are a few old timers on here, can I point you towards this, for those that remember OJ.
