I got a gadget thingy for broken iphone leads. It just needs the plug bit not the ridiculously fragile lead which always wrinkles then breaks. It's called a Dock It. Was a tenner on eBay.

Biro springs work on the iPhone 4 charge leads, the 5 leads it's the actual pluggy-into-the-phone bit that breaks. Amazon and Belkin do much better leads, but we've been through dozens of the buggers here
