I agree, ginslinger, and Stratters. There are some posters who just look for an opportunity to pounce with a barbed, mean, sarcastic comment. I think they think it makes them look good, and that they are part of the 'nest of vipers' club.

Very little humour - and what there is is often infantile/puerile and certainly not the kind of intelligent wit that we used to see so often. MartianBishop's posts were a case in point.

and empathy - there's a shortage of that in some places.

I've been here a tad under two years & I am saddened by how much things have changed.

I lurked for quite a while before signing up & a lot of the names on this thread, who now rarely post, were my reason for joining. MN seemed to me to be a place filled with intelligent people where one could have a great chat, laugh and argument without things getting nasty.

Sadly, it seems to have changed somewhat.

You know what I think the problem is? It's turning into Netmums round here!
