So the sports day thread where the child was victimised for being slow and adopted has been pulled and seems not to be genuine. Why would someone do that?

I have a horrible feeling that some people are capable of being pretty nasty themselves, so they aren't surprised when people are even nastier. There's a lot of mean spirits stuff on Mumsnet..............

I gave that one the benefit of the doubt Sad nothing lost though

UserNameUnderConstruction · 13/06/2014 18:47

I think I know which poster and the 'baby' forum you're on about! Same story and complete with 'pictures' as proof. She still has the other posters sucked in. I have to sit on my hands too..

UserNameUnderConstruction · 13/06/2014 18:48

Gah! Forgot to quote rustnmartys post!

clam · 13/06/2014 19:19

The thing is, it's not considered cricket to call out a suspected troll, but I was mildly concerned that so many good folk were spending their time giving advice on something so obviously a crock of shite. With the best will in the world, it can take a while for a report to MNHQ to result in a thread deletion.

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 13/06/2014 19:29

NurseyWursey was a troll? I just thought a gobshite...

Anyway another thread this morning made me Hmm and I very almost posted on it but cba

I'm with MorrisZapp - how anyone thought the sports day was genuine is beyond me. I was sorely tempted to post "I call bullshit" but didn't want to get accused of troll hunting!
I just refused to believe that any person that openly bigoted and ignorant would have held a place on the PTA. The troll over egged the pudding I think!

ExitPursuedByABear · 13/06/2014 20:02

On the other hand, I am really missing Daisy and her U.N.C.L.E.

Canthisonebeused · 13/06/2014 20:05

I read one of those letters to... In the guardian the other day and it was from a guy who had trolled and bullied someone in school. He expressed he hadn't known why he did it, but as it transpired the girl had posted a sucked note as a result and he was bricking it. But he she didn't go through with it, but it was enough to stop him. He expressed he had no idea why he did it. It sounded like he had some very deep set jealousy for the attention she got on line.

I really did think the sports day one was genuine. I'm normally quite quick to recognise a crock of shit but it just seemed really genuine been though it was very far fetched.

Wannabe that thread is as trolly as you can possibly get.

Many people have voiced concern and the 'conclusion' happened just as the OP story was unravelling.

MoominAndMiniMoom · 13/06/2014 20:22

Can't believe I never knew about Nursey.

There's threads running concurrently in Pregnancy and Conception that good god, I wish it was a troll, but I don't think it is.

PortofinoRevisited · 13/06/2014 20:57

i have been here a good while now and it seems to be getting worse.

If i read a post and my eyebrows do a squinty, puzzled thing then i think "nah, not true" and wander off to look at real threads. Trolls are boring.
