wtf is going on with the merchandise? Why can't I buy an Elsa dress for dd (6) to play in? Why aren't they selling them everywhere??? Massive demand so make more???

It's ridiculous. DD has one technically- we couldn't get her one here but DP's parents live in Paris, they managed to get a friend's daughter to buy DD an Elsa dress from Disneyland Paris before they all sold out. The catch is they're holding it hostage until we come to visit in the summer, which apparently we are! Otherwise DD wouldn't have one, she got very, very lucky. I think they're aiming for exclusivity if there aren't many available, but they don't seem to appreciate they're dealing with children Hmm

EdYouKateShaun · 11/06/2014 23:09

It's driving me nuts. The amount of money I HAVEN'T spent because it is so scare is ridiculous. I like to pop something in my trolley at the supermarket so I don't notice the cost as much. I'd have had jammies, tops, dressing up, toothbrushes, figures, posters, bags, cups, bottles, balls and on and on.

That sounds really extravagant but I mean if DC needed one of the above and these was a frozen version yadda yadda yadda

Purplefrogshoes · 11/06/2014 23:09

You have to stalk the the disney store page on fb, they update when they are online and fellow stalkers let you know if a store has stock. After months of stalking I have managed to get both dresses, a backpack and both dolls for my dd's birthday, if you do manage to get a dress size up as they are very small

I was very generous, I managed to reserve 1 Elsa doll in a local Argo yesterday - I was trying to get an Anna as well but the website was so slow by the time I got to the reservation page someone else had got there first.

As I have two DD (and couldn't face the fighting 1 Frozen doll would mean) I gave the reservation code to one of the other Mums at school.

Hopefully I haven't made a mistake and can get 2 dolls before Christmas.

RedPony · 12/06/2014 00:10

OP there's someone selling an else dress age 5-6 on my local fb selling page for £30 of that's any help at all? It keeps coming up on my news feed every few hours

DanaBarrett · 12/06/2014 00:44

Try eBay for outfits, we got a fab one for less than a tenner, and it's very similar to the Disney one iyswim xxx

cleoismycat · 12/06/2014 10:20

She really want the one with the snowflake overlay as opposed to the Asda version (same as all dresses with diff pic glued to front) Red pony - could you PM the link please?

I'm not sure if Olaf is in demand as much as the other dolls but he's in stock at sainsburys online for £15 if that helps anyone?!

ShelaghTurner · 12/06/2014 11:09

Disney store has a load more stuff on today including bags/luncboxes etc. But I've spent a bloody fortune on there in the last fortnight and still not managed to get an Elsa dress. I finally decided today to give in and get the damn thing but 7-8 is sold out Angry

Trapper · 12/06/2014 11:18

You should try and stop letting this bother you so much.

Let it Go, LET IT GOOOOOO...

BolshierAyraStark · 12/06/2014 11:19

It's ridiculous!
Have Anna sparkle doll but have yet to track down Elsa-don't even get me started on the dress, no way am I paying £40+ for it, the Asda one is gorgeous but just cannot get.

Am taking comfort in the fact that DD's birthday isn't until September...

CarCiKoTab · 12/06/2014 11:25

disney store

CarCiKoTab · 12/06/2014 11:25

Looks like they have them in stock at the moment, bit ridiculously priced mind.

Spottybra · 12/06/2014 11:27

Get a local dressmaker?

curiousgeorgie · 12/06/2014 11:28

If you 'like' the Disney store on facebook they update saying when they'll have stuff in. I managed to get both sparkle dolls, both soft toy dolls, both costumes and an Olaf by doing this. (Or rather, my friends did for me as I panicked Wink)

Westfield Disney store had loads of both costumes on Saturday and I went in in the morning and later in the afternoon. If you call a store they'll hold them for you.

TheSarcasticFringehead · 12/06/2014 11:28

I have managed to get them (I have contacts Wink ) but I was looking to get another one for my niece and it's honestly ridiculous .

JapaneseMargaret · 12/06/2014 11:29

YABU.

AgaPanthers · 12/06/2014 11:31

it's all made in China and comes over in sea containers which take months to arrive, so won't be that easy just to make more.

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 12/06/2014 11:32

They are hoarding to increase desire by Xmas. Only poss explanation!

Offler · 12/06/2014 11:47

I've just ordered one from Asda for delivery in early July! Just hope it fits DD at age 7-8 when she is a tall 7 year old!
