So I have been at a party tonight to celebrate an 8 year olds birthday at my local cricket club.

Lovely night good weather/music ect just as I'm leaving a women approaches me saying " can I have a quick word" I'm intrigued so say yeah she then proceeds to tell me my jeans are too loose and her and her friends have been commenting all night that I'm stunning but my jeans are too lose !

I'm now annoyed that the focus of a kids party was my loose arse!

I just said uh ok thanks as I was pretty embarrassed I mean why would she approach me? I think I look ok my jeans were skinny jeans with a bit give with a tight vest and a blazer, why do women always scrutinize other women's bodies?

She said they are too big get done that fit! They are new and in my opinion very tight she said you need some that suck you in !

Ynbu. How very rude.

MrsKCastle · 07/06/2014 23:13

Very off. What on earth makes people think they can comment on the appearance/clothing choice of someone they don't know?

Ignore them. Wear what you like. It's no-one else's business!

BlondieBrownie · 07/06/2014 23:14

She was very strange, YANBU.

If you were bending over with a thong half way up your back then I would understand a bit but that was uncalled for.

SuperLoveFuzz · 07/06/2014 23:15

Very rude! Maybe she thinks telling you this is the same as telling someone they have lipstick on their teeth or their fly is down?!

If you like them and feel comfortable in them, who cares about this weird woman!

Also v sad that her and her friends have spent the party scrutinising your outfit and talking about it!

AgentZigzag · 07/06/2014 23:18

YANBU, what a weird thing to say to someone you don't know.

Cheeky mare.

Out of interest what was she wearing?

CarbeDiem · 07/06/2014 23:20

OMG! how bloody rude.
What a sad bunch to spend their time checking out and commenting on other's peoples clothes or appearance.
I'd of been sarky - 'Thanks but if I wanted fashion advice I'd call Gok'
YANBU

bucketofbathtoys · 07/06/2014 23:22

For real? I would tell them to get a life . What planet are they from ?

Primafacie · 07/06/2014 23:23

She was a cow, or at least seriously lacking in social intelligence.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 07/06/2014 23:23

Two words.

Well jel.

Wolfiefan · 07/06/2014 23:23

I hope you whispered back that she didn't fill her bra!

FartyMcGhee · 07/06/2014 23:24

She what now?

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 07/06/2014 23:25

That's just wierd. Did they really have nothing better to do at a party than scrutinise the fitting of a random strangers clothes? And why would you tell someone that's what you were doing? You haven't got a stalker have you?

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 07/06/2014 23:27

Was she drunk?

Everythingwillbeok · 07/06/2014 23:28

Mmm think she was wearing a navy vest top(loose) and jeans she was pretty but plain.

I'm upset in an odd way ! I thought I looked ok,you know a kids party smart but fashionable. She was really in my face in front of my DD as we'll now I'm thinking my jeans are the most hidious things ever ! And I love them they are really comfy with a nice ankle zip she looked disgusted and wax saying they are very unflattering ??

Isabeller · 07/06/2014 23:29

It was a dare Grin her mates threatened to give her a chinese burn if she didn't do it.

chocolatemademefat · 07/06/2014 23:31

So you're 'stunning' with skinny jeans and a tight vest top and you're complaining about some jealous women. Hmmm - that tugs at my heartstrings as I sit here in my stretchy clothes looking a sight.

GiniCooper · 07/06/2014 23:31

I'm sure you're a stunnah...

AgentZigzag · 07/06/2014 23:33

'now I'm thinking my jeans are the most hidious things ever !'

Why are you taking what she said as gospel??

You don't even know her!

She got something out of saying that to you, nothing to do with your jeans at all.

AgentZigzag · 07/06/2014 23:34

Why the NM link Gini? Confused

passmethewineplease · 07/06/2014 23:34

She sounds like a cow!

Her friends were commenting all night?

They spound like dicks too.

Ignore them, if you felt good who cares what some ransoms think.

passmethewineplease · 07/06/2014 23:36

Sound not spound.

Randoms not ransoms. Hmm

GiniCooper · 07/06/2014 23:37

Honestly, because it sounds like something they'd get upset over.

I was suggesting OP would get the opinion she's after over there.

Sneezy · 07/06/2014 23:40

So she said they were too big and you need some that suck you in!! Sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about!! Ignore her and wear your comfy jeans. People will usually comment nicely about clothes or say nothing at all. She obviously feels the need to say something to make you feel self conscious. She's obviously jealous! Wink

Everythingwillbeok · 07/06/2014 23:47

Thanks guys I feel really embarrassed I don't know why.im normally confident but I think it's because I thought I looked nice.

It's knocked my confidence a bit, she said I've been wanted to tell you all night.

I just brushed her off as my DD was listening but now I'm home I'm still shocked I would never do this Sad

Staywithme · 08/06/2014 00:03

It sounds like she has been jealous of your looks and confidence and decided to clip your wings. It's possible her friends said nothing of the sort or were maybe humouring her bitchiness. It would never, ever occur to me that I had a right to comment on some ones appearance. Just a bitch and I wouldn't worry about it.
