To have phoned the police on our neighbours

They just tried to force their way into our house Sad I can't breath.
This is the same neighbour who was on loudspeaker in the garden to his wife the other day moaning
about our fucking kids winding his dogs up. This is also the same neighbour who has continually taken over length by length our front garden. When today for the first time I asked him not to I got a tirade of abuse from him.

Maddening have had a look at the deeds. Part of it about 6 foot should have had a fence but doesn't ??

I spoke to the builders about 6 months ago asked them to put a fence up. They refused. I said I would pay, they still refused.

Have the police turned up yet?
Can you get a fence put in anyway, why do you need the builders to do it?

kappadelta · 31/05/2014 21:52

Have just been on the phone to the police again. Obviously said my sons round at a friends and I've told him to wait there but I'm to terrified to open the front door in case they are there.

The response time is terrible! I hope they are there soon.

kappadelta · 31/05/2014 21:55

Pipbin I asked the builders to put the fence in as it would take the ownership off us and make a dispute regarding the fence less lightly to happen. I did offer to pay but they said the estate had to be open plan as that was the agreement which was made with the council when leasing the land.

Police just rang we are next on the list.

Could you put up a small fence, just 6 inches high or so? Put it clearly onto your land so they can't say anything about it.

kappadelta · 31/05/2014 22:33

Pipbin - I'm going to ring solicitors on Monday so they can look into where we stand with a fence, even a small one.

I remember seeing a thing on a program following planners.
There was a similar situation (well ish). There was an estate where it was in the deeds that the front gardens had to be open plan. One person had put up a small fence to keep his children in his front garden.
The neighbour went apeshit and said that he couldn't do that and it was against the deeds. The planning officer found in the favour of the guy with the fence.
So I think you could do it.

kappadelta · 31/05/2014 22:54

Thanks for that I will definitely look into that. I'm still waiting for the police unfortunately x

Isn't it appallingly unfair that you have to lose so much money when selling a house with vile neighbours, when you've done nothing wrong. It's as if the decent people are being fined thousands of pounds for the wrongdoings of their neighbours. The stress of living next to them is bad enough without such massive financial losses

The procedures for dealing with nuisance neighbours are all in the favour of the perpetrators.....

Its so wrong and sad, powers need to be much harder to come down on nasty neighbours.

Pipbin · 31/05/2014 23:09

I agree Razzle but I can see that they need to be sure. What if it was like the other bad neighbour thread where the neighbour accusing the MNer of being noisy and unreasonable is in the wrong.

kappadelta · 31/05/2014 23:09

Razzle - you are so right. It's sad and unfair. I'm still waiting for the police, it's been 6 hours now.

BiscuitCrumb · 31/05/2014 23:14

Oh dear kappa that's dreadful. It's so concerning that people can wait 6 hours for police help. :(

kappadelta · 31/05/2014 23:19

Well I'm on the phone to the police for the last time then I have to go and get my son who has overstayed his welcome at his friends.

HilariousInHindsight · 31/05/2014 23:28

Ridiculous they aren't there yet!

kappadelta · 31/05/2014 23:33

Apparently they are in their way.

Wen I was in a similar situation the police were absolutely hopeless.

We were trapped for 28 months like this, unable to come and go, we couldn't open our curtains, we couldn't use our garden, not been for washing. It was hellish. We put our house on the market and they did everything they could to stop it selling. In the end we legally forced the builder who built it to buy it back as there was a mistake on the deeds.

What I Learnt is that you can't win as they are not thinking I the same way as you. I would stray cutting your grass every week. Don't think of it as giving in but as a way out. Moving is your goal. Not being right.

kappadelta · 01/06/2014 01:10

Savoy what was the mistake on deeds? X

kappadelta · 01/06/2014 01:27

They left about 10 minutes ago. Said that them trying to force their way into my house was not threatening Hmm
