Just that.

I hate it!

AIBU?

Yes. Unless there's some detailed backstory involving horrified nuns or something. In which case it would depend.

(Although you're obviously quite entitled to wish anything you choose)

MrsWinnibago · 31/05/2014 14:29

How old is he? In the house? The street? The Deli? Where? Does he live with you?

Helpys · 31/05/2014 14:29

I only see my brothers a couple of times a year; I spoke to them both this week and miss them. I'd tolerate shirtlessness!

mytwoblackandwhitecats · 31/05/2014 14:30

Thanks. Our dad just died. Our mum died when I was 16. I know what it's like to miss people. My thread wasn't about that though.

He's 34. In hot weather ... everywhere; I had to beg him to put it on to go in the bank earlier!

FunnyFoot · 31/05/2014 14:31

Is it just your brother or do you feel the same about any man with his shirt off?

mytwoblackandwhitecats · 31/05/2014 14:32

To be honest I don't think about random men but I do think to remove your shirt somewhere that isn't the beach looks a bit ... vulgar, I suppose. In the same way that I wouldn't walk around the town centre in a bikini.

No biggie.

HygieneFreak · 31/05/2014 14:36

I must admit i dont like it in public.

In your own home fine.

Walking round town with no shirt on just screams "look at me!"

Sparklingbrook · 31/05/2014 14:46

I hate seeing topless men out and about. There really is no need.

YY-to saving it for the beach.

MrsWinnibago · 31/05/2014 14:46

YANBU it looks AWFUL and most especially in public places other than the beach or the pool. In Australia there are rules about it.

FunnyFoot · 31/05/2014 14:47

I can't say it bothers me tbh. I only tend to notice if they are a fine specimen or extremely beer bellied but even then I only give them a passing glance may linger slightly longer on the fit one though Grin

adsy · 31/05/2014 14:48

YANBU unless on the beach it looks really scutty

Sparklingbrook · 31/05/2014 14:49

I do not want to be nose to chest hair with a random bloke when in the queue at the shops.

honeybeeridiculous · 31/05/2014 14:54

YANBU I don't like to see bare bellies wobbling around, I have one myself and keep it well and truly covered Grin
I think a lot of shops wouldn't let you in shirtless these days,
On the other hand, there's a guy that jogs past our house every day at 6pm I don't actually wait for him and he just wears a skimpy pair of shorts and nothing else phwoar what a body I can tolerate him with no shirt on Grin

Sorry for your loss Thanks

honeybeeridiculous · 31/05/2014 14:56

sparkling you made me chuckle, if you were nose to chest hair then one of you would be facing the wrong way in the queue Grin

sarahquilt · 31/05/2014 15:01

It's gross. I don’t care how fit they are - it's unnecessary.

partialderivative · 31/05/2014 15:06

Walking round town with no shirt on just screams "look at me!"

If I were to walk around town with no shirt on, it would scream "Someone call security!"

Sparklingbrook · 31/05/2014 15:26

Grin yes that's true honey, but I might have turned round and a fuzzy nipple brush my face. Shock

PhaedraIsMyName · 31/05/2014 15:46

YANBU. Not acceptable other than swimming pool or beach.

ImperialBlether · 31/05/2014 15:49

So sorry about your dad, OP.

About your brother, whereabouts are you - near a town? Near a beach? Is he just going into Tesco or similar like that? Does he think he looks great or like he's forgotten to put it on? Is it hot near you?

PrimalLass · 31/05/2014 16:03

It's gross. I don’t care how fit they are - it's unnecessary.

And common runs away and hides

emotionsecho · 31/05/2014 16:05

YANBU, it just so uncouthSmile and I find it slightly disrespectful too, loads of places now have strict rules regarding appropriate dress.

Never mind the chest hair Sparkling I can't cope with fuzzy, hairy shoulders and backs, eugh I always think something could be living in there, please keep it under wraps!!!Grin

HolidayCriminal · 31/05/2014 16:44

I couldn't be more indifferent to it.

HappyAgainOneDay · 31/05/2014 16:48

I like a hairy man.

Apart from that, when my son was born, the thing I noticed most was that he was covered in blond hair. Covered. Like a small monkey. Absolutely covered. Unfortunately, by the second day, it had gone.

Alisvolatpropiis · 31/05/2014 18:36

In public - Yanbu

In private - yabu. Though I totally get where you are coming from.
