To think the School overreacted in Expelling Pupil and calling Police for a stunt, when a "bollocking would have been enough".

Jacob Dowdle, a year 13 Pupil at Altrincham Grammar school on the last day of term May 16, put a paper plate with whipped cream in to his year heads face.

This was a very "Stupid" thing to do, but no harm was meant or injury caused yet the school called the Police and summary expelled him. The teacher was seeking a prosecution for the stunt, when she was not injured The teacher although upset , should have had the grace to except that it was a poor stunt , ( or like most teachers on the last day taken it on the chin as overexcited students behaviour).

Its 1,194 signatures now, what happens when he gets 2,500 signatures.

He must expect that the school doors will be smashed through by his baying mob chanting "HEY TEACHER LEAVE THAT CHILD ALONE" and "JUSTICE FOR THE PIE THROWER NOW" maybe he could send a delegation to Strasbourg and demand that the E.U seek to overturn this "OUTRAGE" He should demand that the United Nations send in its Teachers, to restore peace and harmony and remove the "DICTATORSHIP" that has come to power .

The whole thing sounds engineered. I just hope the poor teacher at the centre of this realises that it doesn't represent how everybody feels.

captainbarnacle · 29/05/2014 19:26

I too as a teacher was assaulted in the corridor - pinned against a wall by a boy taller than myself who 'head butted' me a few times (more to intimidate rather than cause any injury) just because I asked him to take a lollipop out of his mouth and he tripped over my foot.

This wasn't pre meditated on his part.

The school managed a move for him to leave on mutual agreement. After a couple of days I contacted the police - after I received no apology. He was 15 I think. He was up for common assault and I remember a meeting with him and his dad and me and my dad, where his dad expressed confusion and anger that I had contacted the police at all.

And I don't think what he did was as bad as this pie attack. Fully support the Headteacher.

The 1,194 people mostly AGSB boys no doubt who signed the petition are showing what privileged and cosy lives they live.

These boys have obviously never had to protest about, real life changing or life threatening situations, like maybe a Hospital closing or protesting Police corruption that stopped the truth coming out about Hillsbourgh or Stephen lawence. Little Silly over Privileged boys....

I would happily contribute to a thread to offer support to the teacher.
Smokepole, you have been so gracious on this thread. I really admire you.

JohnnyBarthes · 29/05/2014 20:27

OK, so who's going to start a petition or a Virgin Giving (they take a smaller cut than Just Giving) page?

LineRunner · 29/05/2014 20:37

We could get this thread up to 1000 posts, the vast majority supporting the teacher.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 29/05/2014 20:42

It's a shame the teachers not a mumsnetter, then we could see how she feels about it.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 29/05/2014 20:45

That's a good idea Linerunner. Any petition about the direct incident would need the permission of the person concerned. His petition was started by him stating his "plight". Maybe get the thread up, tweet it if you have an account? Then we could email the thread to the school and explain that even the op was on board after a reasoned discussion.

LineRunner · 29/05/2014 20:56

Yes, good plan. Thanks.

I truly hope the teacher is all right, given this dreadful situation not of her making.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 29/05/2014 20:59

Right, how do you actually tweet a thread. I am sure both my followers are waiting avidly. Grin

merrymouse · 29/05/2014 21:01

The ironic thing is that the petition and publicity demonstrate that this man doesn't have any self knowledge or remorse and the school's decision is correct.

LineRunner · 29/05/2014 21:09

I don't know about Twitter but MNHQ might advise if you email them. They are a nice bunch when sober.

JohnnyBarthes · 29/05/2014 21:46

#MNsupportsYou ?

LineRunner · 29/05/2014 22:04

That's a good one.

Mushypeasandchipstogo · 29/05/2014 22:04

I would support the teacher every time, the stunt was deliberately set up by the boy and his friends. I think that his parents should take some of the blame too.

smokepole · 29/05/2014 23:43

"WOW" Nine signatures in 4 Hrs, only another 1297 to go at 2.2 per hour that equates to 589 Hrs or 24 Days , Hurry up or your exams will be finished. Thank you Bluestocking.

The most important thing though is that the culprit does not get any advantage from this. I actually think the last thing he wants in his twisted mind is to be re admitted to the school. The school should now issue a writ against him, ever entering the school premises, therefore losing the privilege of actually taking the exams . He has even crossed that line now. I would also hope that no examination centre would give him the chance to sit his exams for at least 1 year . He has taken the "piss" not just of his teacher or school, but of all students taking their GCSE/A levels across the country.

If the teacher had rammed the pie into the boy's face there is no doubt that the teacher would be facing charges of assault and sacked. The boy who is 18 and an adult needs to understand that there are consequences for premeditated assaults on others. The expulsion on his school record is both fair and correct in my humble opinion.

QuintessentiallyQS · 30/05/2014 00:17

Smokepole, do you feel in anyway that having been a mouthpiece for this thug on social
Media, justifying this as a prank, part of the storm cooking against the teacher?

I have just watched the footage here:

www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/video-students-custard-pie-teacher-7178117

What strikes me is the people witnessing it stop laughing... His peers pick he went too far immediately.

I think this teacher's position may become untenable due to media nonsense and that is disgusting. That man and his family should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

oldnewmummy · 30/05/2014 01:53

I've just emailed the governors to offer my support for the Head Teacher's actions. [email protected].

Delphiniumsblue · 30/05/2014 07:25

Very true, bevelino. I don't see why a teacher would lose their job and never teach again if they did it to a pupil and yet if the pupil does it then it is a 'bit of fun'- especially when the pupil is an adult.

Fizzyplonk · 30/05/2014 07:36

So is someone starting a new thread on campaigns?
Then pepple could just add a line or two of support.

Groovee · 30/05/2014 07:44

It's on BBC Breakfast right now!
