To have changed the sheets as DH is away tonight?

He rarely goes away. I can't wait to get into my lovely clean bed and read my book until I fall asleep. And then read in the middle of the night when I wake up. Without him lying there 'breathing'.

Oh wait! Who will bring me my tea in the morning?

Ahhh the breathing... I hate it Grin

Yanbu... Enjoy

MrsBearWasTired · 27/05/2014 14:36

Oh yanbu! Dp goes away maybe once every 2 months and as soon as his arse is out the door, I always change the bedding.
Hot bath then big mug of tea and read my book sitting in the middle of the bed with all the pillows piled up behind me!

Perfectlypurple · 27/05/2014 14:37

I do that. It's funny how the bedding always needs changing when he is on nights.

fuxache · 27/05/2014 14:41

I do this too! DH travels for work 3-4 times a month and I always change the sheets the day he leaves.

Gotta get those special little treats whenever I can.

Plus I figure he is in a fresh clean hotel room bed too so he doesn't miss out not that he ever sees this as a treat.

Thurlow · 27/05/2014 14:47

Ditto, perfectpurple. It's an amazing coincidence...

ExitPursuedByABear · 27/05/2014 14:47

Oh goody. Everyone's agreeing with me.

I might have to encourage him to go away more often.

I go one further - change the sheets, get the chocolates and a good book in, bath with nice smellies, jimjams on and retire to bed by 7pm latest, just to get my full moneys worthWink

I don't have a 'breathing' DH, is that odd? He does lie there like a corpse right enough.

BuzzardBird · 27/05/2014 15:00

I do this too. DH is a mechanic and even after his shower manages to left an imprint on the sheet. Grrr! I love it when I can guarantee lovely crisp white sheets for one night at least.

BumWad · 27/05/2014 15:03

I do this too.

I get to enjoy lovely crispy cool sheets all to myself. Mmmm

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 27/05/2014 15:04

I do this as well. Its one of those little things that give a lot of happiness!

littlepeas · 27/05/2014 15:05

I do this as well. It is absolutely guaranteed that dh will immediately fart upon contact with freshly changed sheets, so I make the most him being away.

MaxPepsi · 27/05/2014 15:09

haha, this has made me giggle

DH does shifts, and tonight he's on his first night. I've been sat on my lunch hour thinking the first thing I'm going to do when I get in is change the sheets!!

I can then starfish in the middle of the bed, safe in the knowledge there will be none of his mansweat to irritate me not literally, metaphorically and I can be cocooned in my duvet without him breathing on me during the night!

ExitPursuedByABear · 27/05/2014 15:13

What on earth have I been missing with a DH who rarely goes away!!!

Sadly I can't go to bed too early as the dog will expect to go out later.

And Happy Valley is on.

This is so funny!
I have gone to the logical conclusion and now have my own bedroom, complete with mood lighting, crisp sheets and many unnecessary cushions.

ExitPursuedByABear · 27/05/2014 15:17

Stop giving me ideas

Enjoy your night of luxury - thermos flask for your morning culpa.

iggymama · 27/05/2014 15:18

Culpa=cuppa

thebodylovesspring · 27/05/2014 15:18

Absolutely agree. Add a large glass of wine and you would be me!

makeminea6x · 27/05/2014 15:20

Oh I'm so jealous. Even if my DH goes away there's a bloody noisy baby in my room. Can't read or owt Envy

JennyOnTheBlocks · 27/05/2014 15:23

Another one whose DH is away on clean sheet night

It's pure coincidence, honest ;)

Poledra · 27/05/2014 15:26

YANBU. Unfortunately, DH no longer travels for work, so I very rarely get a night to myself. He commits the heinous crime of folding the pillows - despite the fact he has been warned repeatedly about this, he still folds the pillow to lean against when he reads to the DCs before bed. I swap the pillows so he gets the folded one

Ragwort · 27/05/2014 15:30

Agree with Another - after 25 years of marriage we now have separate bedrooms Grin. Every night is bliss
