To have changed the sheets as DH is away tonight?

He rarely goes away. I can't wait to get into my lovely clean bed and read my book until I fall asleep. And then read in the middle of the night when I wake up. Without him lying there 'breathing'.

Oh wait! Who will bring me my tea in the morning?

DH went on a three week trip to NZ last year. Fresh bed linen, catch up on the sky+, new books and most of all a permanently tidy house!

"Did you miss me?"....... errrrrrrrr Grin

BrokenToeOuch · 27/05/2014 19:39

I love it when dp goes away for exactly this reason! I adore being in bed on my own and his breathing/farting/tv watching/general dubious pillow habits get right on my wick.
I'm campaigning for separate bedrooms!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 27/05/2014 19:42

My DH changes the sheets for me before he goes away

ExitPursuedByABear · 27/05/2014 19:45

Impressive.

Why do they mangle the pillows? Confused

I change the sheets when DH goes away.

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 27/05/2014 19:51

I cannot believe all you people who happily introduce crumbs into clean sheets

No crumbs left here, they all get slurped up Grin

Why do they mangle the pillows?

AND the toothpaste tube . . .

Catsmamma · 27/05/2014 19:52

i would LOVE separate rooms........

dh has a terrible cough atm and is sleeping in the spare room so he can cough and splutter to his heart's content

It was just me and Reuben-idiotcat last night!! BLISS!!

Itsfab · 27/05/2014 19:53

Teasmade!!

ExitPursuedByABear · 27/05/2014 19:57

I am a tea purist. A flask or a teasmade would just not cut the mustard.

Liking the idea of sleeping on his side tonight.

I hate changing the bed so Dh does it, but I do clean the ensuite when he goes away especially the toilet!!!
Loo remains lovely and clean!

mindthegap79 · 27/05/2014 20:19

My DH and I compete to see who can get to sleep first. The loser is troubled by the outrageous snoring of the other one. We've recorded each other as evidence.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 27/05/2014 20:26

Ha I too have many recordings of DPs bloody snoring as evidence. I think the most infuriating sentence in the whole world is "How could I be snoring, I was awake????".

I often have a toddler in my bed though, especially if he has a cold, so my sheets are often snot covered.

SybilRamkin · 27/05/2014 20:28

Noooo, I always wait till DH is home to change the bedding if he goes away just so I can see the happy little wriggle he gives when he gets into a clean, fresh bed. yes I'm sad I know

HippyPottyMouth · 27/05/2014 20:29

I can't wait to have a spare bedroom when we move. It will be my woman-cave. Snorey the Walrus and his memory foam horror are welcome to the master bedroom. I change the sheets and go to bed early if he's only out for the evening. Any excuse will do.

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 27/05/2014 20:32

Am 35 weeks pregnant and currently sleeping in the spare bed as am too restless at night. Bliss! I love rolling from side to side onto the cooler sheets. Am not missing the various nightime grunts, teeth grinding, random conversations about baked beans and crumble and bizarre squeaks that my DH makes.

I also made sure I have the nice Egyptian cotton set while he is sleeping on the polyester sheets. And I have a packet of digestives in the drawer for midnight snacks. Grin

mindthegap79 · 27/05/2014 20:35

Yes, I'm usually b-feeding my 3 month old these days, so my fresh sheets are immediately sprayed with milk and dribble as he lays there snoring and breathing - and wuth every exhale a puff of air hits me in the face, displacing my fringe, which I haven't had chance to get trimmed for weeks and is now annoying me as much as the snoring! And breathe Grin

mindthegap79 · 27/05/2014 20:38

Yes liquid - what is it with the bizarre topivs they choose for their late night sleep talking?!

CorusKate that is hilarious!

ExitPursuedByABear · 27/05/2014 21:00

Puffs of air. Shudder

A quick push in the shoulder ensures he turns over.

Noisy git.

This thread offers such a funny insight into women's mind....

I thought it was just me being mean!

Buttercup27 · 27/05/2014 21:18

Great idea ! DH is away for the first time in ages in a few weeks and I was dreading it but now .... I'm planning clean sheets, chocolate in bed because I know it drives him bonkers and a hot bubble bath. Knowing my luck though it will be the first time in months that the dcs don't sleep!
