...whilst on a public engagement must have either a) a screw loose or b) major exhibistionistic tendencies?

She has clearly made a policy of eschewing hem weights.

She knew she would be getting into a helicopter.

It looks like she is commando, although I suppose there is the possibility of a dental floss g-string.

I'm just Shock

Is someone suggesting Charles bought the picture sat on it a month, then gave the wink to the photographer to sell it to take the heat off him?

thesaurusgirl · 27/05/2014 14:41

She's a terrible role model, like most women in her rarefied class and income bracket.

She can't wear whatever she likes when she's at work and we're paying for it.

She shouldn't be ripped to threads whilst much more deserving male recipients of criticism are shielded.

Fakebook · 27/05/2014 14:42

Maybe she's doing it to spite the Queen? Didn't she recently apparently tell her to keep her hem line longer?

Even then, I don't know why anyone would run the risk of flashing their bums in public.

thesaurusgirl · 27/05/2014 14:44

No one is suggesting that person is Charles, Effective.

I was suggesting that the Royal PR machine is very effective at manipulating the press.

TheFairyCaravan · 27/05/2014 14:44

If you Google, there are pictures of her arse in that yellow dress. I'm not sure if they are photoshopped though.

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 14:47

Surely the minimum requirement of clothes for a woman (or man) doing a serious job is that they cover your underwear and private bits.

Yes this^ and I think you are right about the wilfulness saul

"She can't wear whatever she likes when she's at work"

But she works so little that you wouldn't think it would be a problem!

thesaurusgirl · 27/05/2014 14:49

Someone upthread called her mother a "trolley dolly".

Is there a similarly belittling term for male cabin staff, does anyone know?

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 14:51

At the end of the day, when your job description is little more than dressing well and waving, surely it's important to try to get it right.

And this. Which has been W & K's choice. They could have quite radically redesigned their royal roles by now (particularly as a graduate couple with expensive educations) but they have seemingly chosen to stick to the 'fashion-plate and hand-shake' model, so -exactly- get it right.

thesaurus - actually air hostesses call themselves this in jest - I have 3 friends who are female air hostesses.

Oh and it was me who called her this... it's not a rare term!

SuperFlyHigh · 27/05/2014 14:55

diddl - she wasn't called Waitey Katie for nothing was she not?!

even then she diddled around doing little or very little until she got hitched.

SuperFlyHigh · 27/05/2014 14:57

thesaurus apparently male cabin crew are known as Ball Bearing Stewardess.

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 14:58

Actually bettercallsaul has nailled it. I am off to join Republic.

But she works so little that you wouldn't think it would be a problem!

If she worked so little pre-marriage it's not surprising she's often inappropriately dressed, like a lot of junior staff.

There's also the possibility that she or the Firm she represents enjoys the power her appearance wields.

I once had a junior who looked like a supermodel and had a First from Cambridge. All her clothes were see-through and at least one size too small. She was dynamite in client negotiations so funnily enough no-one ever took her to one side and said, "Love, a pink bra escaping from a white sundress isn't how one dresses in this industry."

EffectiveCommunication · 27/05/2014 15:00

I just googled Kate Middleton skirts blowing up, this is a regular occurance, she knows it is an issue and wears no weights in her dres no slip, no knickers or a g string. This is no accident imho.

diddl · 27/05/2014 15:02

"it's not surprising she's often inappropriately dressed,"

Seriously-no one told her to wear underwear!!

She has advisers!

All people are saying is "wear some underwear"!-rocket science it ain't!

thesaurusgirl · 27/05/2014 15:05

[Grin] Do you think that the no knicks business is her and William's thing?

Like blowjobs were Camilla's (and supposedly Anne Boleyn's)?

oldgrandmama · 27/05/2014 15:11

thesaurusgirl, I knew about Anne Boleyn, but not about Camilla. Well, you learn so much on MN. Do you think she swa ... OK, enough of that.

I'd just throw into the discussion that after the royal wedding, it was posited in a very serious Sunday broadsheet that the reason the Pippa derrirre was so vulgarly sleekly apparent was that she was commando under that dress. Still, no worry about a draught roaring up through the Westminister Abbey gratings and causing a bare bum show - the dress was far too tight.

EffectiveCommunication · 27/05/2014 15:12

If it is their thing, to expose Kate's bum in public, then they are pretty warped to then pretend they are upset and start legal proceedings.

Nancy66 · 27/05/2014 15:17

I can't see how on earth they can take legal action. it's totally different from the topless pictures

KurriKurri · 27/05/2014 15:39

Love the idea that no knicks is her 'thing' - how would the conversation have gone:

William 'My Mum's thing was HIV charities and Land Mine charities, what's your thing going to be Kate?'

Kate 'Hmmm - I could flash my bum a lot'

William 'OK, sounds good to me'

Grin
BristolRover · 27/05/2014 15:39

agree, Nancy - no invasion of her privacy if she's malfunctioning in a public place, while on public duty, where she is fully aware the world's press corps will be waiting for her

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 15:47

So many experts on the sexual pecadilloes of the RF! Shock

Is there a "special" documentary channel?

OP posts:
annielouise · 27/05/2014 15:59

She knows it happens when she steps off planes or helicopters so why not wear a longer skirt that's shaped in a way that can't blow up? I just don't get it. The thing is she's been around for such a short time and people are commenting on it more and more - no doubt some journalists will pick up on this thread also. At what point is she finally going to get it and realise she needs to start wearing something that doesn't blow and expose herself? I can only think she's aware of it, enjoys the thrill of people seeing her perfect body in a sexy light as it helps with her self-esteem maybe and/or isn't not bothered and will not be dictated to.

In the 3 years she's been around more of her naked flesh has been seen than anyone else's in the RF. This is a woman that's going to be queen, who will represent the UK to conservative countries that we might need to have especially good relations with and she's flashing her arse.

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 16:17

no doubt some journalists will pick up on this thread also.

Let's hope not - last time was awful - "A mum calling herself CrazySpanielEars opined that Prince William..." or some silly such.
