That ukip are making such huge gains in the elections.
If mnetters could temper their hysteria of screaming racism, I think it is a clear indication that the fundamental principals of the party of no toEurope and no to continued mass immigration are very important to a lot of people

X post. Orwell and Benn were sincere men of principle. Farage is a self serving phoney.

OneStepCloser · 24/05/2014 19:40

I`m pretty sure that Farage has said he would do a deal or at least work with the Tories, but not 'Call me Dave' is that right?

claig · 24/05/2014 19:43

'Farage is a self serving phoney.'

Can you substantiate that claim?

claig · 24/05/2014 19:45

OneStepCloser, I think Farage has even weakened that condition and would even make a deal with Cameron now.

He said the other day that he is prepared to make a deal with the devil if it means getting a referendum, so it is possible that he would make a deal with Cameron too.

noddyholder · 24/05/2014 19:46

Claig you are hilarious really. You are unprepared for anyone to really challenge you and send anyone who does off to google on the pretence that you are not going to do their work for them or make things easy when in reality it is because you have no real knowledge at all on this subject. Why don;t you back your argument with the facts if you are able to?

claig · 24/05/2014 19:46

'Orwell and Benn were sincere men of principle'

I think that Farage's stance over Syria and Ukraine puts Farage in the same category.

Scousadelic · 24/05/2014 19:47

I had to laugh at the Daily Fail Editorial today claiming Milliband was finished as the public see him as a member of a privileged elite with no experience outside of politics that give any knowledge of ordinary people. Does it not occur to them that problem extends to the Tories they support too?

I agree that this is a protest vote and think that the main parties are running scared although it does concern me that the BBC, who are supposed to be impartial, and other media are spinning so hard on the establishment's behalf

claig · 24/05/2014 19:48

'Why don;t you back your argument with the facts if you are able to?'

I have said nothing but facts. Facts is my middle name. What more facts would you like?

noddyholder · 24/05/2014 19:48

How many ordinary people do you know who are racist, sexist homophobic and are fine with MPs paying their family out of tax payers money and fiddling their expenses?

LumpySpacedPrincess · 24/05/2014 19:48

Being one of the people is available to anyone from any background. It means standing up for ordinary people and their rights.

Unless you're disabled, or gay or heaven forbid not English, or a women...

JanineStHubbins · 24/05/2014 19:49

''Orwell and Benn were sincere men of principle'

I think that Farage's stance over Syria and Ukraine puts Farage in the same category"

No, it doesn't, no matter how many times you say it.

claig · 24/05/2014 19:49

'it does concern me that the BBC, who are supposed to be impartial, and other media are spinning so hard on the establishment's behalf'

Exactly, but Scousadelic that is nothing new, they always do. They did it over Syria and they are doing it over Ukraine too. That is how the system works.

claig · 24/05/2014 19:51

'How many ordinary people do you know who are racist, sexist homophobic and are fine with MPs paying their family out of tax payers money and fiddling their expenses?'

Fortunately, none. Is this some Tory MP or member of the House of Lords or something?

Duckierub · 24/05/2014 19:52

claig
"George Orwell went to Eton, but he was one of us.
Being one of the people is available to anyone from any background. It means standing up for ordinary people and their rights."

Then why do you keep bringing up the school and background of people

ilovesooty · 24/05/2014 19:53

He wants out of the EU but is prepared to trouser money as an MEP while rarely turning up. He's carefully put himself forward for seats at Westminster to gain maximum publicity while having no chance of winning. He spins the image of himself as a man of the people when he has no idea how most ordinary people live. He is giving the impression he'll do a deal with just about anyone who'll advance his personal power.

You haven't provided satisfactory answers to my questions so you'll have to take that as you wish.

I think he's a carefully manufactured phoney, as false as they come and as corrupt and avaricious as they come. I don't think he gives a stuff about the voters of the UK but he's sure as hell seen a hook to hang his ambitions on.

Duckierub · 24/05/2014 19:54

"Farage is one of us."

Claig please define who "us" is?

noddyholder · 24/05/2014 19:54

I am not part of UKIP, so I don't know what all of their policies are. I only know the ones such as wanting to leave the EU, against the "green crap", for proportional representation, for local referenda, for scrapping the bedroom tax, for grammar schools, for lower taxation, for cuts to quangos and foreign aid etc How can you support a party where this ^ is the best you can do? This is like gcse debating society level

claig · 24/05/2014 19:55

'Then why do you keep bringing up the school and background of people'

Because anyone who spins against the people and tries to deceive the people is not one of us. They could have gone to a comprehensive or to Eton, it doesn't matter. A spinner is a deceiver and deceives the public.

TheBogQueen · 24/05/2014 19:55

You can't compare Farage to George Orwell, a man who fought in the Spanish civil war!

Bloody hell. All Nigel has done is stuff money into his bank account while posturing on question time

noddyholder · 24/05/2014 19:55

Claig you are funny though you just can't see it. You are wrong on so many levels and actually if its people like you that have their support then I think we have little to worry about.

ilovesooty · 24/05/2014 19:56

Oh and he employs his wife while claiming no one else can do the job. So much for opening up employment opportunities.

Greedy, corrupt and a king sized hypocrite.

claig · 24/05/2014 19:57

'Claig please define who "us" is?'

Us is the people, all of us, of any race. We pay the taxes that fund the bath plugs for MPs. It is us, the disenfranchised, the deceived, the powerless, the lied to, the spun to. Us is the people.

noddyholder · 24/05/2014 19:58

hahaha seriously it is better not to engage I think its a bit cruel claig so out of her depth.

ilovesooty · 24/05/2014 19:58

And Farage is a deceiver who has taken much of the public in as I see it.

Duckierub · 24/05/2014 19:59

Claig "Because anyone who spins against the people and tries to deceive the people is not one of us. They could have gone to a comprehensive or to Eton, it doesn't matter. A spinner is a deceiver and deceives the public."

But you keep bringing up the fact they went to Eton. You are contradicting yourself. How can you not see that?
