DP was admitted last week and moved to HDU last night. They don't know what's wrong. He has fluid on belly, some kind of infection and impiared liver function. There is talk of moving him ti ICU. We seem to be waiting on endless tests. He is 35 we have a three year old and I am 7 months pregnant. I need him . Please tell me your positive stories of recovery from these situations.

Thinking of you Grobags. Hope you had a good swim and that you can get some rest. You will know what is right for you, but you must be due in 3 weeks or so, so please do rest up and think about trying to get in good nick for labour and so you can show your DH your lovely new daughter.

My best wishes to you.

Thinking of you gro and your dh, our thoughts are with you here

SallyMcgally · 04/06/2014 22:04

Thinking of you gro. Hope today was easier xx

I can no longer read this thread. People I have met in RL and whose tragic stories I am all too familiar with are being condemned for sharing their experiences.

I am dealing with cancer for the third time. I had an MRI yesterday to try to determine if this most recent one is potentially curable or merely controllable. I am about to begin one of the most difficult chemo regimes there is.

People are trying to help the OP based on their own horrific experiences. Being an ostrich helps no one.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 04/06/2014 22:27

Thanks zombie

PortofinoRevisited · 04/06/2014 22:34

Op asked for experiences, Zombie, and she got them - sadly not all happy tales. In between times she seems to be putting her own health at risk and not really thinking of the needs of her 3 yo dd. I think much of the advice has been sensible. I think that is where the "criticism" comes from. It is not telling off, it is concern.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 04/06/2014 22:40

Once again, OP asked for people to share stories. She is is a very different position to when she was when the thread was started. She never asked people to stop doing anything except to stop fighting with one another.

EvaBeaversProtege · 04/06/2014 23:15

Am sorry grobags. Thinking of you, dd, dh & bump.

Expat, MrsD etc, thank you for sharing.

All too familiar to me also (not my own child) just wanted to say I admire your strength xx

MonserratCaballe · 05/06/2014 06:40

How are you doing today, Grobags? How is DH doing? Thinking of you.

WandaDoff · 05/06/2014 08:22

I hope today is a good day for you all, Grotbags Thanks

Annietheacrobat · 05/06/2014 08:47

Goodness goodness goodness! Where is all this attacking and condemning (apart from the deleted post).

A few posters, myself included, have expressed concern that some some of the advice given might be a bit forthright and direct, and could risk upsetting the OP. I was also worried about the nature of the medical advice, some of which was quite frankly completely wrong.

I am allowed to express this and I don't think I have done so in an aggressive way. I am by no means a 'self appointed defender of the OP', or if I am, I am no more so than any other poster on this thread.

Grobags - I hope you and your DH had a comfortable night.

Zombie - good luck with the MRI today. Thanks

FrontForward · 05/06/2014 09:13

Grobags. I hope the bun fight on here is not detracting from any support you wish to get. People are concerned about you and it's an emotional topic close to many people.
Keeping the focus on you I really hope that you managed some sleep and your DH is comfortable

SallyMcgally · 05/06/2014 09:34

Hope today is easier gro and that your DH is managing to build up his strength.

wheresthelight · 05/06/2014 23:34

gro hope swimming with your daughter gave you a break and that you are coping better with things. I can only guess at how hard this all must be for you and you are in my thoughts and prayers

Hope Mr Gro is stabilising and that they can try and make thing more comfortable for him and look at his wider options soon.

Stay strong!

FrontForward · 06/06/2014 06:53

Hi Gro. I hope you managed to sleep last night and hope DH had a restful night.

ZacEfronsLeftBicep · 06/06/2014 16:10

grobagsforever · 06/06/2014 21:07
