simply to say 'why isn't this in chat?' 'Have you nothing better to worry about?' 'Shouldn't that be you're not your' etc

What is wrong with these people? Do they think there's a law that if you're on mumsnet you have to open every thread and make a comment Confused

They're bad tempered meanies who need a bit of The Chalet School in their lives.

MajesticWhine · 16/05/2014 23:25

pointless thread in which I have no interest Grin

Summerbreezing · 16/05/2014 23:26

Yes Joey would soon sort them out. Nothing like English Tea to sort out grumpy gits.

Making other people feel like shit makes themselves feel better? They don't think about how they might affect someone else? Having a bad day? Paid per post?

Who knows?

Hasn't everyone been shitty on a thread at some time though?

I can't stand the grow up/you're just sooo immature posts. Oh, because you're sooo grown up aren't you? Hmm

lessonsintightropes · 16/05/2014 23:27

Wine for Squoosh, of course they do!

Summerbreezing · 16/05/2014 23:48

Wine from me too. Well, it is Friday!

First world problem. YABU. Grin

EverythingCounts · 16/05/2014 23:52

I do find it hilarious when people post to say they have no interest in something / is isn't worth bothering with etc, yet have given up their precious time to post a reply about said boring/pointless thing.

The one that bugs me most on here is the 'it's none of your business' line. It's a chat site; 95% of what people discuss is none of their business, so we may as well just shut the site down if that is a worthwhile reply to a discussion. People just like talking about stuff!

Vintagejazz · 17/05/2014 00:07

Dull people who have nothing interesting to add to a thread but still have to give their tuppeny ha'pence worth.
Seriously, think of your favourite witty interesting amusing posters. Do they ever come onto a thread to say something pointless like that?

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 00:13

They could say it's none of your business if they genuinely didn't think it was the OPs business though Everything?

'AIBU to worry about my friend? I thought I knew her but now I've discovered she's started using a loo brush/shopping in the 97p shop/wearing crocs'

None of your fucking business would be an OK response to those wouldn't it?

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 00:14

Perhaps they're lonely and don't have the confidence to post what they really think, sometimes even crap contact is better than none?

grocklebox · 17/05/2014 00:16

you've made in error.
SOmeone (ie me) posting why isnt this in chat clearly is interested: in why it isnt in fucking chat, when its clearly not an aibu.
Im interested in that: is that people are lazy or that they are so self important they need the largest numbers of users to see their ioft nane query?

grocklebox · 17/05/2014 00:16

oft inane, that was prob meant to say. bastard phone.

Vintagejazz · 17/05/2014 00:20

Interested in what Grockle? Why not just ignore the thread if you feel it's not an aibu? It does sound a bit anal and sad. (Sorry)

Sparklingbrook · 17/05/2014 00:24

Thread police and grammar police. They are everywhere. Hide thread is a very underused function. Grin

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 00:25

Why is it so important to you that people strictly follow the rules grockle?

Maybe they just want to talk to other people? Chat is quite fast moving and threads can be shoved off the first page before anyone's answered, but you're nigh on guaranteed to get lots of posts in AIBU, even if they are panning you.

What does it matter that they're not genuine dilemmas? The 1000 post long threads on AIBU about stacking the dishwasher show that people want to talk about all sorts of things in this bit, how can you know better than them what they want to do?

Daisymasie · 17/05/2014 00:26

I can't understand people who do that either. Do they sourly go through every thread raking for something they can find to get annoyed about? Weird!
Maybe they always wanted to be prefects at school, but were never popular enough to get selected. So have to make do with annonymously ticking people off on MN Grin

grocklebox · 17/05/2014 00:58

Interested in what? ERm, what I said. Hmm
I just find it irritating. Quite possibly Im a total twat. But then so it appears are large numbers of people who post here, and I don't think I'm any more twattish than a lot of them.

If you say to me,,,whats it to you, why do you care blah blah blah, I can say the same to you about my comments. Whats it to you what I comment? Just ignore me.

grocklebox · 17/05/2014 01:02

and another thing, if its really sad of me to comment so, I would its even more tragic to be commenting on how sad my comments are. Its like, meta-pathetic or something.
Or it would be if any of this mattered even slightly.

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 01:08

But you've started it posted first grockle, you can't expect posters not to cut you to the quick retort.

Why do you have to spoil everyone's fun say it on the thread though? Why not just report and move on to a thread you're interested in?

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 01:08

May have overused crossing out

SecretWitch · 17/05/2014 01:14

I have opened this thread and I don't like it! It would be far more interesting to me if it was about me.

Suzannewithaplan · 17/05/2014 01:15

many thread titles are so 'enigmatic' that opening them is the only way to know if it's going to be something you'll find interesting!

grocklebox · 17/05/2014 01:19

I'm spoiling your fun....of posting in the wrong topic? Ooh, wild times! Hmm
Cos I'm a narky bitch. Whats your excuse?

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 01:24

I am also narky, and awkward.

No, it's not fun posting in the wrong topic, but it can be fun posting on threads you're interested in.

My life is so sad I have to get my kicks where I can.
