Unless your there for a fasting blood sugar or need a very early morning sample, why was the blood clinic rammed with pensioners at 7:30am who had been there from 7 (to get an early ticket). Thus making people late for work, because when they arrived at 7:30 for the 7:30 clinic there is already 20+ pensioners waiting with their tickets causing waiting times to be over an hour fromthe off.

Is it unreasonable to expect an early morning clinic put on for those who cant go during work hours, to be kept for those who need to get to work

YABU. Maybe the pensioners were given lifts by their working children on their way to work.

Or maybe they just wanted to be there early because they also have lives.

Age discrimination is illegal in this country.

Why didn't you turn up at 7am?

Maybe they've got, you know, stuff to do all day? Or just got there early?

YABU -people are entitled to attend when they wish. Alot of the pensioners may have been having fasting blood tests/got a lift/had other appointments that day/or just had other things to do.

They have just as much right to go at a time convenient to them, as you have.

I also get frustrated when I'm stuck behind a horde of pensioners at the post office, or at the supermarket, at pension collecting time. But then I give myself a talking to.

Should those without cars get special priority for appointment times convenient to bus arrivals?
Those with the longest commutes get the best slots?
Single parents get priority over 2-parent families?

Very possibly they are there for fasting blood tests in any case.

Because they are on Warfarin and so need an early morning sample?

They get the rewards of efficiency. An efficiency possibly borne out of need, such as being diabetic or having another medical condition that requires an early test to get a same-day result in order to carefully control their medications.

YABU. Get there early, they probably have things to do with their days too.

You have no idea who they are, what they do and what their reason is (not that they need one) to be there early. Whether they need to be or want to be there early is none of your business quite frankly.

My dad is woken at 5am by my mother wandering the house - she has dementia. Going to the gp/blood/chiropodist after he has got her dressed and breakfasted is the time shes least likely to get into trouble left on her own while he deals with his own, multiple, health issues

I know I know IABU , people can go whenver they want to, but its frustrating when the clinic is advertised as "an early morning clinic for those who have difficulty attending during work hours" to find it full of pensioners discussing how if you get there for 7 they open the doors to the waiting area so you can grab a ticket before the clinic officially opens at 7:30 and be first in the queue.

If they're anything like my DMum then they've been up since 5.30 in the morning, so it feels like the middle of the day for them.

YAB ........ well, unreasonable and precious and silly and........

If it is advertised as such, then you could talk to the practice about ways it might work better for its intended purpose - maybe give appointments for the 7.30-8 slot so it can be controlled a bit better for those who are really time pressed, or early by appointment 2 days a week, rest turn up and take a ticket

Oh and YABU, but you know you are, and in your shoes I'd have felt exactly the same way - seething inside and smiling on the outside.
