To think sanitary pads are the work of the devil?

Just had an op and not allowed to use tampax for a while so for the first time ever having to use pads. The most uncomfortable thing ever if you actually want to move around and do outdoorsy stuff. Who actually chooses to use these?! Any tips on brands and what doesn't irritate your lady gardens gladly received. I don't wish to have to go totally bald down there to reduce irritation as re growth will be even more painful!

@WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes Sorry to hear of the worries about your DD, hun. I understand she has to wear her school uniform, so dresses are out, but at least she'll have tights on to help 'hold things in'.

What age is she?

If she has very heavy periods like me, I can thoroughly recommend Kotex Nightime pads, and Sloggis don't have to be old fashioned, Have a look at the range of cotton Kanga types.

Paula.

You sound like a child. That is why I asked.

We don't "hun" around here unless you are referring to Attila's people, FYI. And you might like to rethink the "Love and kisses", too, because that way lies much ridicule.

HTH. Again, welcome to MN.

Sorry, your 'welcome' cuts no ice with me, as I dislike your impudent and condescending/bossy tone. Who on earth do you think you are?

I'll chat the way I like, and if that means referring to people as hun, so be it. You're not my mother, although your sound old enough to be!

Best if I ignore you from now on, I think.

Paula you should stick around, you are like a breath of fresh air Smile

Why's everyone being nasty to Paula!? Has anyone any experience of washable sanitary wear? I'm tempted by some fleece ones I've seen on eBay.

Are people actually taking Paula123456 first post seriously?

It sounded like a fantasy right off, then when I saw the last bit about 'pleasuring in private' seriously?

Paula, I'm just wishing I could convince OH that Sloggis are not a sign that I'm having a mid life crisis/ turning into my mother. They look bloody comfy! I love my Primarni seam free ones. Go right past my belly button and hold me in a bit better than other pants.

Can I ask the previous posters who don't get on with tampons; do you have problems with sex? Have you given birth?

I use Mooncup at night and on days I'm at home. I use Naturacare tampons during the day, I just can't change my Mooncup when I'm out Blush

LancashireTea · 28/05/2014 19:29

YoungBritish I've never had problems with sex, occasionally a little tight before I 'relax' Blush, but no issues. No babies yet.

I just really do not like them. Each to their own though eh?

Back on sanitary towels here after the mooncup dislodged my coil. I don't fancy having that replaced every month thank you very much.

That is exactly the voice that I heard in my head when I read Paula's post AmberLeaf

Seriously do none of you others find the post a bit Hmm for a first post?

Maybe I have been on MN too long.

I have only started having problems with tampons since I had DC4. It was my fourth vaginal birth with no stitches, all biggish babies and two born with an arm up by their heads like flying Superman.
Despite me religiously doing pelvic floor exercises daily from age 14, things have stretched and Tampons just fall down after half an hour or so.
I tried soft cup and was really pleased with it but they are quite expensive so have bitten the bullet and ordered mooncup today.

I hate sanitary towels and I find I have more period pain and feel generally more grotty if I use them.

Almost as if someone googled 'sanitary pads' and found the thread.

Me too.

Cosy comfy pads in nice tight knickers...

Yes, this rang hairy bells for me too.

Oh, I assumed that Paula (aka Emily Howard, a ladder) is joking. Surely no-one actually Huns?

And you wonder why mumsnet has a reputation for being full of snobbish bitchy women?!

Seriously? Haven't you heard someone say "hun" before. How stressful for you to endure.

Report
StairsInTheNight · 28/05/2014 20:17

It wasn't the hun that made me Hmm, personally.

CoteDAzur · 28/05/2014 20:17

That's why we need daddies like you to come tell us what to say and how to say it Hmm

Paula I recognise your posting style from LBB... AKA Little Black Book, a Escort forum. Are you from there?

'Hun' barely even registered.

I've just suffered an mc and had to use pads. And do you know what, I found using the pads actually added to my distress.

I felt like I was sitting in my own blood and I hated it. Couldn't finish using them fast enough.
