to think my colleague was thoughtless and ruined my lunch?

Yesterday the canteen at work was closed so two work colleagues volunteered to drive and pick up lunch (we work in an area where it would take 15 minutes to walk to the nearest cafe and only have half an hour lunch.)

It was decided they would go to KFC and McDonalds. I had spent an hour previously complaining that I had got food poisoning last time I went to KFC. So I ordered from McDonalds and said to my colleague, please just get me the American burger of the week.

My colleague returned back with a Louisiana burger which is a chicken burger! When I said I had been complaining about getting food poisoning from KFC that it was common sense that I wouldn't want a chicken burger.

Their excuse was - they had other peoples lunches to get, I hadn't been specific and that they hadn't really listened when I complained about my food poisoning.

I am laying bets that in about 1 hour 17 and a half minutes this thread will be deleted with the message:

"This thread has been deleted at the OP's request. (We don't normally delete whole threads but we will do so when it is to protect a poster's privacy.)"

translation: OP realises she has been a twat and is very embarrassed about it

Confused

I'm getting accused of an awful lot.

Flouncing - because I didn't respond quick enough.

Reporting this thread to MNHQ - because I didn't respond quick enough.

And for the record I'm not embarrassed in the slightest Grin

I think it's a different beef one each week but the chicken one is on sale through the whole promotion. So what she got was the 'American chicken burger of the month' if you want to be really finicky. But the OP is still BU.

BigBoobiedBertha · 09/05/2014 15:52

YABU

Did you not know the canteen was closed? Could you not have taken a sandwich if you are so picky?

Yabu because of the way you behaved - your gripe was with KFC not chicken or did you make it crystal clear that you never eat chicken any more. Mostly for going to KFC and McD's in the first place.

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 15:53

I'm not really sure what people want me to add?

I asked AIBU? And was told I Am Being Unreasonable. Therefore I got my answer.

Isn't that the point of this section of the forum?

KatoPotato · 09/05/2014 15:54

How did you react to your lunch delivery? Did you pretend to not be bothered and thank them all the same?

Or was there Louisiana burger flying through the air and stamping feet?

^

And that's not me flouncing before I get accused of that again.

After over 200 YABU's I have pretty much for my answer.

So again I'm not quite sure what I'm suppose to add at this point?

OP posts:
picnicbasketcase · 09/05/2014 15:55

Did you eat the burger though?

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 15:57

The board is rarely used for it's true purpose

Very true.

But in this instance I think I have used it correctly.

There's no point me saying oh ok guys I was being unreasonable - because I doubt anyone would believe me and not thinking I was saying it to end the thread.

I genuinely don't mind if this threads carries on, but for me I have my answer so therefore I got what I needed.

You still haven't answered how you responded to your colleagues with regards to the chicken burger, and if you actually ate it!

What's a reverse Aibu?

BelleateSebastian · 09/05/2014 16:06

I think they should have bought you a glue burger, inconsiderate bastards!

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 16:07

Haha Maryz I feel like I have provided a good amount of entertainment for some users this Friday morning Wink

Groovee it's not relevant to the OP. I asked if my colleague was unreasonable to get me a chicken burger. I didn't ask if my reaction was unreasonable - therefore I don't have to answer your demands.

I do apologise if this throws a spanner in the works for more drama to be added. As the original OP after10 pages is now getting slightly boring.

I have to complain about KFC.

They don't bloody deliver and I really want one right now!

P.S. YABU OP!

RabbitFromAHat · 09/05/2014 16:22

You're taking it in good spirit, OP, I'll give you that. Grin

You are, sadly, unreasonable for making me want fried chicken, as I am a bloody coeliac and it's off the list without actually doing it myself (ain't gonna happen).
