"Breastfeeding in public should be criminalized and banned entirely"

Hi mums,

Posted this on the BF board yesterday and while it's got a lot of attention someone's suggested it needs the might of the mighty AIBU...

Facebook are thus far refusing to take down this hateful and incredibly hurtful page. Please go to the page (don't scroll down - it's disgusting) and report immediately. When you get the notification from FB that "We reviewed the page you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it doesn't violate our Community Standards.", you can leave feedback, and tell them that they are very clearly wrong. Thanks!

I don't do fb, but get the idea from the link to the other thread. I have also signed the petition, using the link on p.4 of the thread.

missingmumxox · 04/05/2014 05:17

A fire needs oxygen, this is not even credible as a idea and you are fuelling it by advertising it, I'll wait for the MP who support this before getting het up over a FB page.

Louise1956 · 04/05/2014 07:48

had a look on facebook but couldn't find it. Are you sure it exists?

redexpat · 04/05/2014 07:55

I can't find it either.

FreeSpirit89 · 04/05/2014 08:19

Me can't find it either. Link please?

MiaSparrow · 04/05/2014 08:35

Sorry - here

missingmum - of course, but this is about the depraved (and actually illegal) content of the page and the fact that Facebook are refusing to take it down.

PitchSlapped · 04/05/2014 08:38

Yeah so I scrolled down and now I feel sick... DO NOT SCROLL THAT PAGE

MiaSparrow · 04/05/2014 08:41

I did warn you. We need to do something, right? Please remember to leave feedback saying why you think FB's decision is wrong once you've reported.

It's obviously a really stupid joke.. Just ignore them and hope it goes away. You don't have to go on there and there's no way anything more will come of it. Doubt they are even a real activist group. Agree fb is very relaxed about what it tolerates on there.

bragmatic · 04/05/2014 08:44

They will be loving the moral outrage. Ignore them.

MorrisZapp · 04/05/2014 08:45

Ignore it. Whatever it is, they want an outraged reaction. Don't give them any oxygen.

MiaSparrow · 04/05/2014 08:45

midnight I wouldn't want my child's image next to an image of Ian Watkins in a "joke". Somebody's is. Sad

OP posts:
TenaciousOne · 04/05/2014 08:53

Report it as hate speech, it's targeting a gender.

FreeWee · 04/05/2014 08:54

Then surely all eating in public should be criminalised? That's all it is. Feeding. Yes it's from a breast but that's just the container. Why not plates or bowls? That's why this page is ludicrous.

Peacocklady · 04/05/2014 09:05

That's just so stupid it's beyond ridiculous. No one would take that seriously surely? It's just a cheap childish shot. It's a parody of anti breast feeding.
I feel sorry of the woman with dreadlocks though who apparently won't give bjs, she's had another caption on her that I've seen that says "won't eat non-organic food but takes acid from a stranger". Poor woman's had loads of stuff attributed to her because she happens to look a bit of a hippy. I'd love to know what she really thinks!

MiaSparrow · 04/05/2014 09:10

Bragmatic this isn't moral outrage - it's just about putting something right. Facebook have removed hundreds of images of mothers breastfeeding for being "inappropriate", but apparently this is OK.

Quite clearly the owners of this page are some very confused individuals - pond life, who usually, yes, you can ignore, but my issue is with Facebook's acceptance of it, and that is very wrong.

OP posts:
exbrummie · 04/05/2014 09:16

I reported it and got the same response that they won't remove it,so left feedback telling them why this was wrong.
Hopefulyy if they get enough complaints they will have to rethink(although I doubt it)
This page is vile.

Cooroo · 04/05/2014 09:27

It is vile. It is also created and run by a disturbed and inarticulate young man with major issues. I'd love to get him some therapy but neither me nor Facebook can do that.

I'm really sad he's out there. But I think his arguments are so ridiculous and pathetic they won't influence anyone. He'll think of something else to rant about soon and the nasty page will die out.

Cheby · 04/05/2014 09:43

I've reported. My first thought was to ignore because its obviously a joke page but the content is vile so I've reported for that reason.

Hazchem · 04/05/2014 09:51

I've reported. Had a response and wrote back a complaint. It's vile.

FanFuckingTastic · 04/05/2014 10:01

Hazchem · 04/05/2014 10:06
