Not to POAS yet?

I'm 4 days late usually clockwork to the hour... DH is sat across the room from me blissfully unaware. it's his birthday though and we've got loads of fun stuff planned all weekend - as he's never usually indulged it's nice for the focus just to be on him for once. I'm reluctant to change the mood with a big POAS drama (I definitely want to involve him in POAS drama when the time's right, not sneak off and do it on my own)

I'm thinking I might hold off till tomorrow after all the fun stuff... besides, AF could have come by then...

That's not U is it? Tell me your DH/P POAS tales...

Oh can I play Smile

7 years of trying, chances of natural conception almost zero. 3 x IVF @ 20k = DS1

3 glasses of wine + Indian takeaway + night of passion = DS2 Smile

Go figure

ViviPru · 26/04/2014 21:45

Enjoying these bfp stories. I drank coke, we're both shattered from todays excursions so didn't make a big night of it and back at base now. Still no AF Confused

Shitting hell this might actually be happening... I was going to POAS after the day's activities tomorrow but before nice swanky meal, although now I'm worried I ought to catch 1st pee?? How important is that? This is all new to me (BFP would be a PFB)

Rainicorn · 26/04/2014 21:48

Just pee on it now ffs!

Do you have another one you can use tomorrow or do you just have the one?

Good luck, hope you get the result you want.

PacificDogwood · 26/04/2014 21:48

Morning wee is the most concentrated so concentration of HCG is highest - this might be important in very, very early pregnancy. Many people get BFP even before they miss their first period though.

Ooooh, I am so excited for you Grin!

PacificDogwood · 26/04/2014 21:48

Lovely story, firstpost Smile

CountessOfRule · 26/04/2014 21:56

I think HCG doubles every day between weeks 3-6 or something, so every day you wait is worthwhile.

Can you hold on until Monday morning? We can't.

TheresLotsOfFarmyardAnimals · 26/04/2014 21:59

Place marking - good luck!

ViviPru · 26/04/2014 22:05

Actually Monday might be best... We're spending the weekend in the part of the world where we got engaged so I thought it would be quite poetic to discover BFP here too., hence my panic at fitting it in tomorrow.

But thinking about it we're not heading home till Monday lunch so by then, all the birthday japes will be done with. Will be CD33 so perhaps better chance at accuracy Monday morning. I have 3 tests with me...

Rainicorn · 26/04/2014 22:18

Wow, would be lovely then to get a BFP. Do one now, then one tomorrow morning whatever tonight's result. Maybe the third one Monday.

MrsGeorgeMichael · 26/04/2014 22:25

ah go on, do one now :)

ICanSeeTheSun · 26/04/2014 22:28

I couldn't wait.

But then again I have never done a test with DH. I like the thought of knowing about it for a few hours on my own.

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 26/04/2014 22:29

Ha I will be surprised of you make it to Monday when you have THREE tests staring at you! How can you resist?!

Itsfab · 26/04/2014 22:31

Good luck!

Stars66 · 26/04/2014 22:41

Three tests and you've not done one yet?!!!!
Get in that toilet now woman!!!'Grin

Go go go!!!

ViviPru · 27/04/2014 00:10

I've got this weird delay gratification compulsion. I'm that annoying person who will eat one stick of twix and save the other for the next day.

Plus, in this instance I'm still a bit 'this isn't real'...

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 27/04/2014 00:26

POAS!!

ShakesBootyFlabWobbles · 27/04/2014 00:35

OMG Monday you're killing me Grin

That leaving a second finger of Twix to another day is a god given gift and I am slightly open mouthed in awe of you looks around for a bit of spare DD's easter egg at all this talk of chocolate

Plateofcrumbs · 27/04/2014 02:49

I got a BFP with an evening pee when period was only a few hours 'late'.

POAS (for us!)

Good luck!

Writerwannabe83 · 27/04/2014 07:01

I was testing for a week without telling my DH that I was doing it. I eventually got my BFP at 2pm on the day my period was due. DH was playing cricket at the time so I phoned him to tell him Smile

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 27/04/2014 07:20

FatalCabbage · 27/04/2014 07:43

Congratulations KeepOn!

I wonder if OP is up yet?

Busymumto3dc · 27/04/2014 07:45

Poas poas poas poas

RedFocus · 27/04/2014 07:50

First time poas with ex, second time on my own at GP and second time on my own at home. There's something nice about getting the great news and just keeping it to yourself for a few hours and then thinking up a cool way to tell them. 2nd time I wrapped up the test like a gift. 3rd time I actually showed my mum first because I wanted her to be the first to know and then I used the test as a book mark in my ex's bed time book. It was hilarious when he opened his book as he didn't register what it was at first. Each to their own though op. Good luck.

RedFocus · 27/04/2014 07:58

Op I do think you risk disappointment if it turns out you are not pregnant though and it may spoil your special day for both of you. Find out now and if you are not you can have a drink to get over it and poas later on in the week if af hasn't shown up or book a blood test with GP. If you are you hold it in until the perfect moment on Monday and surprise your dh! I do think getting your dh excited and then it being negative would be quite a let down.
