Thinking it's crackers to change your name.

I've been trawling through the vastness of planet mumsnet the last few days and something I notice alot is people change their name when they have something, generally controversial to say. Why? I know people like to keep up appearances so they look better, different etc than what they are, but in a virtual world? Come on! surely thats going a bit far. It seems people have a pseudonym for a pseudonym. It just seems a bit crackers to me.

TooOldForGlitter · 18/04/2014 23:55

Sparklingbrook · 18/04/2014 23:57

I wonder if the OP is Peter Andre?

MNwidowed · 18/04/2014 23:58

Again i'm not sure what to do. I stop this and i'm someone wh'os had my fun and ran off. I continue i'm seen as acting like a troll. I react i most definitely must be on here for my own entertainment. I thought this was a forum for all. I understand that people hijack this place and I agree its wrong. Unfortunately for yourselves I am not one of them.

ouryve · 19/04/2014 00:02

I have been me, recognisable as me, on t'internet for a good decade. I understand if others want to be less traceable, though. Their business is nit mine to get het up about.

TooOldForGlitter · 19/04/2014 00:02

TooOldForGlitter · 19/04/2014 00:04

ouryve · 19/04/2014 00:05

ouryve · 19/04/2014 00:06

TooOldForGlitter · 19/04/2014 00:16

Hazelnut baileys all round. Any for you OP? Or just a bitter?

MNwidowed · 19/04/2014 00:23

None for me thanks, i don't drink. My wife's family has a couple of alcoholics in it and when we first lived together she asked me if i could stop drinking in the house, as i am not a regular frequenter of 'The Red Lion' or any other pub, I stopped drinking. I will go back to my coffee thanks.

For the purposes of this thread, as it was mentioned sometime before that my NN was wrong, I have now changed it. Just keeping folks informed.

Hideitinmytummy · 19/04/2014 02:00

I've just changed my long-standing NN as it is very very clear my ex has found it and has acted upon something I only posted here. Pissed off tbh as was a good one and frankly I didn't think he'd stoop so low, considering he's supposed to be now happily engaged!
You'd be surprised who is watching and what they can see, I am sure!

GarlicAprilShowers · 19/04/2014 02:24

Good grief, Hide, how annoying!

Unduly complex but logical namechange, TheoneFKAMNwidowed. I look forward to seeing your helpful and/or amusing contributions to other people's threads.

TheoneFKAMNwidowed · 19/04/2014 02:31

Thanks i'll try my best but I have to warn you I'm no Jeremy Kyle when it comes to helpful advise, nor am I Tommy Cooper. But I'll roll my sleeves up and get stuck in.

GarlicAprilShowers · 19/04/2014 02:44

Thank god you're neither of those Grin Get stuck in, and keep your fez on top of the wardrobe.
