Took dd to MacDonalds today. For us this is a holiday treat as we enjoy the odd burger, although dd is really just lured by the plastic tat in the happy meal TBH. She is slim and eats normally rest of time.

But, bloody hell, the people in there were beyond belief really. Makes me realize how other families actually live and why the health of the country is as it is.

Family 1- all huge, and the youngest dd (aged about 9) was definitely the fattest and not only that she was eating a full sized meal, and worst of all was wearing a full red velour lipsy tracksuit with gold embroidery!!!!!

Family 2- Two boys with their dad, all sat vacantly staring at their food and munching away. First boy opens his (supersize) fries and says "wheres the salt?" Dad doesn't say anything, just fishes in the papers on his tray and passes packet of salt to child. The chips are ALREADY covered in far too much salt, especially for kids, and if the child asks for salt this makes me think this is a regular thing for him, to cover his food in salt.

Don't these people take any responsibility for their health AT ALL?

Nope. No sniggering at children here.

Im sorry but if you go in to McDs too you give up the right to judge anyone else in there.

HoneyDragon · 13/04/2014 09:37

Grotesque yes, but grotesque with neon marshmallows in my cereal, which is awesome. Grin

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 13/04/2014 09:37

Thanks BuzzardBird will do. Why - after all these years - does wine suddenly not like me? Sad

RandallFloyd · 13/04/2014 09:37

Ok OP, that last post was fucking vile.

ChocolateWombat · 13/04/2014 09:38

We used to go to McDonalds on the motorway services on the way to/from holiday sometimes. Husband used to look forward to what he called the 'McDonalds Thong Experience' which was a young mother in tracksuit bending over to wallop her kid, revealing inches of thong and bottom. Bizarrely, we did see it on several occasions.

Anyway, I like a McDonalds, so to be honest, when Im in there, I must recognise I too am eating the salty, fatty crap...but I am enjoying it and so is everyone else, so what is the difference really. I find that I do notice a difference in the people in there to the other places I usually spend time and yes, they often look less affluent, but that is not something to judge, nor is different taste in clothes. Those of us in there, can hardly judge the eating habits, as we are eating exactly the same.

I think there is a wide range of affluence, taste in clothes and food. Certain foods are to te encouraged/discouraged, but everyone has to make their own choices at the end of the day and Im sure we all have habits which others might criticise.

Misspixietrix · 13/04/2014 09:38

Co op used to do a similar version Honey they stopped selling them when the bastard spoil sports came and took all the E numbers away Wink

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 13/04/2014 09:40

I'm not sure which is wore tbh - the clatter of hooves on wood or the sound of custard slopping round the bowl.

Think I'd perfer hooves in this instance.

HoneyDragon · 13/04/2014 09:40

MissPixieTrix I stocked up last time Tesco were selling them for £1.50! Shock

that means I still have cash left over for a McFlurry and if I don't bother with healthy exercise and get the bus than I get a free burger.

burgercat · 13/04/2014 09:40

I am not a troll.
I didn't eat this morning, that was an error.
They have salt on the fries and must have salt packets in the branch I was in (other posters have already verified this)
I don't know what size tracksuit the child was wearing, maybe it wasn't even Lipsy, I think that is the logo I saw but it could have just been a similar one.

And I was sniggering at her/parents fashion sense! Not her weight! Surely if your child was fat you would try to dress them in a way which didn't emphasize their weight! It would surely be more offensive to pity her!

Feeling jealous of honeydragon's breakfast of champions after having to be all proper dressed at 7am to deal with the kids after supernatural marathon last night/early morning.

In fact, we're going to make banana cake. It'll have a fuckton of sugar in. Take that, owl onesie.

borisgudanov · 13/04/2014 09:42

YABU. McDonalds chips now arrive without salt and if you want salt you add it yourself.

ScrambledSmegs · 13/04/2014 09:42

Honeydragon, I really think you should namechange to Honeybadger.

I don't own a onesie. Want one now.

ilovepowerhoop · 13/04/2014 09:43

borus - our McD's chips are salted plus you can have salt sachets as well - not all McD's are the same as has been mentioned several times on this thread

formerbabe · 13/04/2014 09:43

Ha ha! I laugh at anyone wearing clothes that aren't from Joules, Boden or John Lewis!

Oh, the working classes fashion sense is a source of endless hilarity isn't it op?

RandallFloyd · 13/04/2014 09:43

Honey, you ming.

I am also on a sofa with a dog but at least I have some class.
My pyjamas are a fetching cotton/polyester two piece combo, topped with a leopard print dressing gown. Both sourced from my local Primark.

And I am eating a bacon butty. Only it's that non-meat quorn stuff; 'fake-on' if you will. It is on delicious sliced white bread, with real butter and smart price brown sauce.

And I am washing it down with good old fashion fizzy pop.

Have some self-respect woman.

LEMmingaround · 13/04/2014 09:44

oooh, where to start

Justifying actualy being in there - tick

Considering it a treat - tick

considering yourself better than the other customers(who are there just like you) because you are all slim and eat "normally" - tick

"These people" - TICK TICK TICK

Nasty comments about what the children are wearing - personally i think boden stuff is naftastic - tick

"is it any wonder the health of the country is like it is"

BINGO

Thankyou op - my first ever full house, scoring a massive 100% on the twatometer scale

LadyRainicorn · 13/04/2014 09:45

Nah op, you were sniggering at her fat rolls. Come on, at least own your fat shaming. Have courage in your prejudices convictions, otherwise you look like, you know, that deep down somewhere you realise it's not very nice.

HoneyDragon · 13/04/2014 09:45

So you are not making up, but now you are not entirely sure what you saw?

Are you actually sure you went to McDonald yesterday? With humans.

Did you go to the zoo and watch them feed the sea lions and get a bit confused?

It's ok if you did.

Misspixietrix · 13/04/2014 09:46

I don't believe most people wouldnt have had an internal snigger at a child with rolls of fat squeezed into a red velour tracksuit. Yet you weren't sniggering at her weight? Hmm. Also if you had to wear your HUGE Judgey Joey pants. It sounds like you should steer clear of McDs for a wee while yourself. Just saying.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 13/04/2014 09:46

I wonder what judgy people make of my kids when we're out. One is stick thin and another is very overweight. Does the hand on their judge-o-meter race back and forth crazily and then explode?

Good job I don't give a fuck then Grin

Maybe they think the skinny one has worms.....

LEMmingaround · 13/04/2014 09:46

"I was sniggering at her parents fashion sense"

ding ding ding ding bells and buzzers

Seriously OP - stop digging, i'll have to set my twatometer levels even higher than they already are.

Forgettable · 13/04/2014 09:47

OP

Why did you namchange to post this thread?

Genuine q, I am not goading

Misspixietrix · 13/04/2014 09:49

No I actually think it is more offensive to fatshame a defenceless kid on a public forum but hey ho.

CheesyBadger · 13/04/2014 09:49

If people had a tad more empathy and engaged their brains, they would realise this is all very complex and blame and judging is nasty and harmful.

LEMmingaround · 13/04/2014 09:49

Honeybadgers are great - just saying!
