Took dd to MacDonalds today. For us this is a holiday treat as we enjoy the odd burger, although dd is really just lured by the plastic tat in the happy meal TBH. She is slim and eats normally rest of time.

But, bloody hell, the people in there were beyond belief really. Makes me realize how other families actually live and why the health of the country is as it is.

Family 1- all huge, and the youngest dd (aged about 9) was definitely the fattest and not only that she was eating a full sized meal, and worst of all was wearing a full red velour lipsy tracksuit with gold embroidery!!!!!

Family 2- Two boys with their dad, all sat vacantly staring at their food and munching away. First boy opens his (supersize) fries and says "wheres the salt?" Dad doesn't say anything, just fishes in the papers on his tray and passes packet of salt to child. The chips are ALREADY covered in far too much salt, especially for kids, and if the child asks for salt this makes me think this is a regular thing for him, to cover his food in salt.

Don't these people take any responsibility for their health AT ALL?

Don't these people take any responsibility for their health AT ALL?

I think for me, quite aside from the "velour tracksuit" judgement, this comment is the nastiest. "These people" - really?

I'm in my 50s, a bit overweight. I will very occasionally eat in McDonald's or similar, if we're all out and about as a family. It is quick and convenient. Most of the time eat healthily, but people like you think it is okay to make a judgement on who is sitting and eating in such an establishment, when you are doing precisely the same. How dare you?

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2014 12:30

Reported with a request that MNHQ comment on their policy allowing name changing for spiteful goady purposes to protect a poster's usual online identity.

Nice one ilovesooty

"oh come off it" . Careful andsmile you're beginning to sound like the OP Grin.

andsmile · 13/04/2014 12:41

Yes Kate i agree but for most people it is lifestyle choices that are to blame.

There are people with particular biological factors that make maitaining a healthy weight more difficult inc underweight. My GP has told me I have borderline hypothyroidism. But I am what I am and it is up to me to do the best I can to be healthy and that means making good choices.

So I still say whilst it is more difficult for some people it is still their responibility to make healthy choices.

There is a family in my communinity they are given sweets everyday at school pick up. There are pics of them eating out with adult sized portions on FB - they are quite an active famly in other ways but seem to get the food side wrong. Two of the children are obese and one parent. The othes are overweight. It makes me annoyed re sweets everyday ffs.

andsmile · 13/04/2014 12:42

miss did you just call the OP fat Grin It's ok ive already bee accused of being a troll today

Im off to cinema to watch the muppets - well I cant wait to get me some meal combo action!

ilovesooty · 13/04/2014 12:45

Thanks Worra
It will be interesting to see how they respond.

Misspixietrix · 13/04/2014 12:46

All this thread has done is made me laugh and crave McDonalds.

The post about grating chick peas had my roaring Grin

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2014 12:49

Probably with the usual "Please do report any goady posts you see" ilovesooty.

Whilst completely missing the point.

RufusTheReindeer · 13/04/2014 12:54

corus borderline hypothyroidism

Not sure what that means

Amytheflag · 13/04/2014 12:55

This thread doesn't half make me want a Maccies.

RufusTheReindeer · 13/04/2014 12:57

I know what it means now...the power of google

Misspixietrix · 13/04/2014 12:58

Ilovesooty did you report or did you post in site stuff too? I can't see one in site stuff which is why I'm asking. There's a lot of GF'ers around atm. I've noticed they all come out to play during HT. So only a week to go.

ilovesooty · 13/04/2014 12:59

Worra if they do it simply isn't good enough. I'm obviously not alone in becoming pissed off with posters name changing just to be cowardly spiteful twats while their usual online identity temping unaffected. If they respond like that I'll start a thread in Site Stuff. It's not too much to ask to give their members the choice of who to interact with. The views expressed by the OP make me concerned that she might be a poster I like under her usual identify but the views she's expressed on this thread make me feel I wouldn't want to piss on her if she were on fire.

Bumbershoot · 13/04/2014 13:00

God I want a McDonald's now. The biggest one they do.

ilovesooty · 13/04/2014 13:01

Not yet Misspixietrix
I'll give them a chance to respond to the report first.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 13/04/2014 13:12

Ivykaty... Do you have anosmia? You might want to get that looked at by your GP, they can refer you - or give you a street map link that will direct you well away from any McDonalds. Wink

Burgercat - or whoever you are, posting in such a cowardly manner. I feel so sorry for any children anywhere near you including your own, you sound like an absolute bitter pill of a person. Nasty and gossipy.

Worra for Prime Minister

ilovesooty · 13/04/2014 13:15

Nothing in my email inbox yet. I'll start a thread in Site Stuff later today if MNHQ haven't responded.

ExitPursuedByABear · 13/04/2014 13:16

McD's is shit.

IMO.

HTH.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 13/04/2014 13:17

Didn't see the last three quarters of the thread before posting... I can see I'm not on my own.

MNHQ... Is it possible to restrict name-changing for cowardly reasons, produce a 'list' of the bile-addled and enable them to experience the ridicule they're so fond of dishing out...

ExitPursuedByABear · 13/04/2014 13:17

My Dd is off for the next two weeks.

Migsy1 · 13/04/2014 13:18

I'll judge anyone with fat kids whether they are in McDonalds or not. Why is it acceptable to allow kids to be obese?
