to produce a checklist to find out if people i know are nice or not?

It might save lots of time.

Question no. 1 (prompted by a current thread) would be 'Do you think that wheelchair users should always have priority over other users on buses?'

I am so stunned at the number of people on the thread who think the answer is 'no' that it is making me wonder how many people i know in RL think the same thing!

What questions would you put on your checklist?

Not sure we want to resurrect those three threads Mardy and Maryz!

126sticks · 03/04/2014 18:52

In answer to ops question

Do you think it is ok to have an affair?

LiberalLibertine · 03/04/2014 18:53

The child, to both,I could get over my dog, but never a child dying in a fire..... and I reeeeeeaaally love my dog!

IneedAwittierNickname · 03/04/2014 19:06

Do.you say really rude/offensove things to others, and when pulled up on it say "Im just being honest"?

Do you cut across someone when they're talking about an experience they've had veru loudly saying why they are wrong (eg it doesn't match up to your experience)?

Maryz unless he's a woman, no Grin

Well actually I know lots of people who do.this, was thinking of one in particular today though

bedraggledmumoftwo · 03/04/2014 19:42

I assume there are no saints out there that haven't fallen foul of at least one thing put forward so far? I guess everyone is different and it wouldn't work very well otherwise.

on the make up thing, i assume it goes both ways and while i might secretly sneer at the current make up look (only just saw the eyebrow thing) i am equally sure those taking pride in their appearance would equally be looking down their nose at my dishevelled state!

uselessidiot · 03/04/2014 19:42

"do you hate me?".

No point wasting time if the answer is yes.

tmae · 03/04/2014 19:48

Do you say thank you (or make some gesture of gratitude) when crossing the road?

MostWicked · 03/04/2014 19:57

I would hate someone to think that I am not a nice person because I wear a lot of slap!

I wouldn't think you weren't a nice person but I would question your need to wear a lot of slap.
I've never consciously avoided people who wear a lot, but I did realise recently that all of my friends either wear none or only a little make up. So I guess I am more drawn to people who are more comfortable in their own skin.

Dozer · 03/04/2014 19:59

Some things that have put me off acquaintances in suburbia recently.

Bitching.
Gossiping/sharing personal info about others we don't know well
Moaning about childminder/nanny rates (when the person paying is well-off), not paying tax.
Paying babysitters less than the minimum wage.
Benefit fraud.
Employing people living/working here illegally, eg as cleaners, to save money

NoArmaniNoPunani · 03/04/2014 20:04

Do you floss your teeth? If you don't floss you can't be my friend

IneedAwittierNickname · 03/04/2014 20:08

Do you tell people what happens in a tv programme after they've said "no, I haven't watched that episode yet, I'm saving it for later" ffs!

Do you post pictures of your dinner on facebook... Every fucking day

Paintyourbox · 03/04/2014 20:29

Do you "tell it like it is?"

which actually means "I can be as rude as I like"

kerstina · 03/04/2014 20:39

Whilst I agree tolerance, good humour and kindness are key when I think of my Facebook friends list the nicest ones seem to have animals. All my close friends certainly do.

kerstina · 03/04/2014 20:40

I should have put love animals though as obviously there are a lot of cruelty cases where the owners are anything but nice Sad

Actually some of my friends do have screening questions like these. One of them is: "What is the correct response to the statement 'My girlfriend sucked 37 dicks'?"

nobodysbaby · 03/04/2014 20:49

In a row?

Would you give up a planned evening out if a friend called you who was really upset & needed to talk?

What would you spend £10 on?

What would you say if someome asked if you liked their new cushions & they were hideous.

What would you say if someone asked if you liked their new hairdo & it was hideous?

(Not entirely sure of best response to these last 2 but good to see what someone says-I may be going out with some new people soon & may actually use this thread if there's any big conversation gaps!)

scarffiend · 03/04/2014 21:01

Do you prioritise work over your children? (Topical one for me!)

mrsdowneyjnr · 03/04/2014 21:01

Do you mind a friend who is a slatten when it comes to housework?
