It would would solve 99.9% of arguments between my dh who works full time and me, on maternity leave at home with two small dds...

Having done mat leave and working FT, the working is easier and you get to have a wee in peace.

I would also like to suggest a machine to measure what is more painful, giving birth or being kicked in the balls.
DH says it must be the balls because I was smiling after giving birth, he has never smiled after a kick in the balls

He does however agree that being at home is more knackering.

I've given up on this. He is always more tired.

Mind you though, I find it more tiring working than I did as a SAHM.

My partner has a manual job and seems to think that he has more right to be tired than me. I work in a university library which is not physically demanding but is mentally challenging so sometimes when I finish I feel like my head is spinning.

I've no doubt we are both really really tired (in different ways) but how often is this really the crux of any argument...

Basically I need a referee to move into my spare room and decide who should do the pick ups, night feeds, ironing etc... Oh and of course tell husbands that being kicked in the balls is a light spanking in comparison to giving brith

There is something! Well, it measures how much sleep you have had. I suppose 'tiredness' is relative.
It's called a Fitbit Flex.
It's a pedometer/alarm clock/lots of other thingummys...but it measures your sleep. So every morning DH and I check how long we slept and then we have proof! It also tells you if you woke during the night and how restless your sleep was.
Don't ask me how it works but I bloody wish I had it when DD2 was newborn

I am currently on maternity leave with a four month old baby (who won't take a bottle) and a six and three year old who are part time in child care and the rest of the time with me. My husband travels at least one if not two weeks a month but apparently never sleeps well in hotels and "has" to go for a few drinks at nights with work colleagues so all in all he finds it all very tiring!! In fact so tiring that he needs to golf on a Saturday afternoon to clear his head!!!!

I am DEFINITELY more tired!!!!

Oh yes and apparently I am on holiday not maternity leave!!!!

my husband falls asleep before the kids go to bed (on the sofa snoring like a chainsaw) i clean etc then go to bed at midnight i get up at two three and four for good at five kick him out at 8am to take son to school and he makes out he is tired and does everything everyone at schools is ahhh did mommy have a lie in i usually comment as if then i replied no i didnt ive been up 18 hours its only 3pm! i was totally embarrassed by myself!

I won finally after seven months by deliberately choosing the overnight stay and welcome dinner option at a conference the other week. It was bliss .

Despite travelling and a full day of lectures and getting home late I felt refreshed and reenergised and it lasted for a good few days.

HE STILL complained how exhausting it was even though I've trained dd to sleep 5.30 pm til 8.30am until the next tooth comes.

Jimmy that wouldn't take extenuating circumstances into account- such as the fact that I have a couple of autoimmune disorders and am always more tired than a healthy person after equal amounts of sleep. So I fear it could be used against me 'even though you got up for DD in the night, I actually had less sleep so I need the lie in more than you'

Ohhhhh if it gets built then I want one!!!! DP is a git for falling asleep at the drop if a hat and then getting grumpy when I wake him up and demand some help. If he says "but I am really tired" once more I may consider a DIY castration with a rusty blunt razor followed by a vinegar bath!!! That man can sleep for Britain, he could literally lean on the washing line and fall asleep - amd what is worse is the noise when he is asleep!!! The snoring, teeth grinding and the awful noise he makes when "clearing his ears out" but iabu got waking him up and telling him to shut the f#@k up or go sleep on the sofa. I am up 2-3 times a night with the baby and then running about all day after him/the dog/his kids/our dd - housework, washing, ironing, cooking, dishes etc. He works 3 on 3 off and even on his days off I have to do it all.

Tired my arse!!!!!!!! Lazy sod!! Sorry needed that rant
