Bags I Samuel West Grin

BillyBanter · 02/04/2014 22:51

Just one for my feet would be fine. I have a sofa and it's nice to put your feet up when watching the 1800 inch wafer thin flatscreen HD 3D home cinema.

YouTheCat · 02/04/2014 22:51

We might all have to resort to this

Dwerf · 02/04/2014 22:52

Oh MoominsYoni I bet I could find him an 'opening'

MoominsYonisAreScary · 02/04/2014 22:52

Amber Grin

Yep, you must have a taxpayer to put your feet on while watching jezza

DontCareAboutYourShoes · 02/04/2014 22:53

Sounds a plan moomins. They can do the housework too so I can concentrate on getting my jezza oooon.

MoominsYonisAreScary · 02/04/2014 22:55

Good one Dwerf, dp is wondering why im sat here sniggering Grin

MoominsYonisAreScary · 02/04/2014 22:55

And look after the kids!

Dwerf · 02/04/2014 22:59

"Oh Mr Reedus, that's an impressive um CV you have there"

RandallFloyd · 02/04/2014 23:05

Ooh, I'd love that. My very own tax payer.
I used to have one but he wasn't squishy, he was all buff and rugged.
(I used to be one too, for 15 years actually, but don't tell the frothers that, it'd blow their tiny little minds)
Sadly I had to swap him for the badger. I'm not as fond of the badger's musk I can't lie, but he's much more feisty.

MoominsYonisAreScary · 02/04/2014 23:06

And we would be ok with mr Reedus when the zombies attack!

foreverondiet · 02/04/2014 23:13

Hmmm I went back to work when each dc was 6 month old to pay mortgage etc. Sounds fair to me, childcare costs covered, not working for "free" working for benefits given, perhaps skills / work place experience. And it's only 15 hours a week....

DontCareAboutYourShoes · 02/04/2014 23:15

Ahem.

Darkesteyes · 02/04/2014 23:23

foreverondiet im pleased that you managed it as a single parent but ppl are actually individuals not one big homogenous mass.

I take it you did do it as a single parent Forever

MoominsYonisAreScary · 02/04/2014 23:29

Its great that you had a job that payed well enough to pay childcare and the mortgage, not everyone is able to do that though

MoominsYonisAreScary · 02/04/2014 23:31

Gah im going to bed, that hardly made any sense

YouTheCat · 02/04/2014 23:40

So that'd be a 9-5 kind of job then? Not shift work?

Tweasels · 02/04/2014 23:44

I love the " I went back to work after x weeks/months" brigade. Yeah, I'm sure you did, to the job you already had and were getting paid to do.

What the fuck that has to do with workfare is beyond me.

YouTheCat · 02/04/2014 23:48

True. And not for income support type wages either.

If workfare genuinely gave proper experience/training with the actual chance of a related job at the end then I'd have less of a problem with the concept of it but it doesn't. It's just cheap labour to line the pockets of mainly large companies with tax payers money. I'd much rather that money was helping someone to raise their child.

BackOnlyBriefly · 02/04/2014 23:53

I can't help noticing that as a rule those in favour of workfare (and benefit bashing in general) don't make long reasoned posts or respond to the points made in the thread, but just turn up and mutter a few phrases that they picked up from the media.

Morloth · 02/04/2014 23:56

IMO workfare is a great big pile of shit.

Morloth · 03/04/2014 00:03

Come on, you can't expect people to work for less than the minimum wage.

It really isn't that complicated, if they job needs doing then pay someone to do it.

I don't work for free so why should someone else?
