to wish I was prone to earwax build-up...

...so that I could have the satisfaction of having my ears syringed/using olive oil/ear drops - and then have everything sounding suddenly louder and get to see the gunk I had accumulated. Basically I fantasise about earwax. Am I an irredeemable pervert?

no, and you would be a hit on the sporners threads...

Cataline · 29/03/2014 18:17

Lol Grin

YouTheCat · 29/03/2014 18:18

You can have mine. It's bloody awful. Stupid olive oil makes my hearing like I am underwater.

itsnothingoriginal · 29/03/2014 18:23

Grin there is nothing like that feeling after a good syringe Grin

RustyBear · 29/03/2014 19:03

You were probably a goblin, swapped at birth.....

ScarletLady02 · 29/03/2014 19:06

It is pretty amazing to have them syringed....but it's a total pain in the ass when you get water stuck in them for days on end.

EyeoftheStorm · 29/03/2014 19:07

I've had my ears syringed once and I understood why dogs thump their back leg when you scratch their ears. It felt soooo good.

shouldnthavesaid · 29/03/2014 19:08

I love having mine syringed.. I haven't had it in ages though - it's seemingly not really recommended much now? My mum's had hers vacuumed/suctioned by ENT doctor. She said that was much more satisfying!

MooseBeTimeForSpring · 29/03/2014 19:28

I remember having mine syringed about 20 years ago. There was a loud clank as the lump of wax hit the kidney dish. Most satisfying. The nurse let me have a good inspect afterwards too!

IDoAllMyOwnStunts · 29/03/2014 19:37

I have my own ear syringer It can become addictive.

Last time I did it 2 massive clumps fell out

Worth noting that no one else is usually as interested in your ear wax as you though Grin DH certainly wasn't as impressed as I thought he might be.

Aeroflotgirl · 29/03/2014 19:42

Ooooh that sounds lovely op, mine never produce enough Sad

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 29/03/2014 19:43

I would agree that the syringing is very satisfying but the pre syringing unable to hear anything is awful.

And every sound inside your head is magnified so eating crisps is no longer any fun, sounds stupidly loudSad

I also have my own syringer. I got fed up of waiting weeks and having to beg and plead for the gp surgery to agree to syringe them, so I stick olive oil in for a few days then syringe.

The big blobs of wax that come out are strangely dark and unearwax like.

eagerbeagle · 29/03/2014 19:45

Me too OP. My DH thinks I'm weird. His earwax is sooooo much gungier than mine. I keep asking him to let me have a forage but he won't let me Sad

SauvignonBlanche · 29/03/2014 19:49

YABU, it's a real PITA.
I use Otex now to stop it building up.

Chuckthefucklebrothers · 29/03/2014 19:52

When my DS was 3 he had a ball of earwax the size of a LARGE PEA fall out of his ear. Just fell out, without any warning. Grim but impressive!

Panzee · 29/03/2014 19:52

Oh I feel exactly the same OP. I love a good earwax video and can only imagine what it would be like to be done myself. :)

CPtart · 29/03/2014 19:58

As a practice nurse I syringe plenty of ears....it's one of my favourite jobs, very rewarding.
Had mine syringed once but never again, gave me vertigo and made me vomit!

I feel exactly the same.

outtheothersidefinally · 29/03/2014 20:05

Do the wax ear cones yourself! Very cheap to buy, maybe fiver for a pair. Very satisfying.

MoreLifeInATrampsVest · 29/03/2014 20:10

Yes! And big blackheads, or anything needing to be squeezed or dug at. Sadly I only ever get the odd teeny blackhead the size of a pin prick Sad

DH gets pretty sizable blackheads but won't tolerate me squeezing for long, he says it hurts Hmm

MoreLifeInATrampsVest · 29/03/2014 20:12

Not thought to look at his earwax though, mine aren't very forthcoming. wanders off to find DH

MeepMeepVroooom · 29/03/2014 20:14

CPtart, DD2 had a consultant syringe hers recently, which seemed a bit like overkill...
